Fulmer also came off a five win season and lost Cut right before NSD.

Maybe. I personally think he would have been ahead of both Hardesty and Williams. JMO. He had the most speed. I remember getting excited everytime he was in the game because he hit holes that none of the other running backs were hitting. Then he actually had break away speed after he got through the hole.

:no: wow. Do you remember how Creer was looking like a little b**** back in the Spring? He was 4th string behind Hardesty, Poole, and Williams then. He was never a factor in the RB race...

bama has recruited 25 or more 3 years in a row is all i am saying and they are having no problem staying up top...that argument doesn't cut it

Lots of LSU fans hate him. You should read some of the stuff they say about him. It's pretty bad. They blame last season on him and a lot of them have lost faith after the season opener to Washington. They seem to think they should be playing in the SEC championship every year.

Doesn't matter. He isn't going anywhere. If any LSU coach gets fired after this season, it will be 3rd and Chavis.

Do you know how many of them didn't get in because they were over the limit for scholarships and couldn't get in because of academics? Teams like Ole Miss, Troy, Army get 35-40 commits but they don't all end up on the roster. There is a reason Florida only had 16 commitments last year. They didn't go over the limit and they only took kids they knew would get in academically.

Yep. I knew UT had a few Juco players that Rivals wasn't counting. Bama also has a couple -- Devonta Bolton and Brandon Lewis from the 2008 class that failed to qualify, went to Juco, have recommitted to resign and enroll in Jan. Lewis is a 3-star DE/TE and Bolton is a 4-star WR/TE/LB. Bolton is not playing this season in Juco in order to be eligibile to play 3 seasons at Bama. He's really good. 6-4, 230 lbs., with sub 4.5 speed! I don't know why Rivals isn't including the Juco players like Scout and ESPN are.

I lived in NOLA for 4 years right around the time LSU was getting good. Les Miles was hitting his stride with Saban's team. LSU fans acted as if their recent success was some kind of God given right as if they were a historically significant program. I will give them this...they have been the top team in the SEC this decade along with UF. Other than that, their general attitude about their place in history was just retarded. I had to keep reminding them that UT had a winning record in Death Valley.

Les Miles coaching was an absolute joke when they won the NC (with 2 losses I might add). Their sheer talent and blind luck got them through that season. That season was also the screwiest in all of my memory of college football. Appy State beats Michigan, etc, etc.

I like that they recruited him as an athlete.

This still keeps Cobbs alive at WR. But as other have said, he needs to crap or get off the crapper!

Rivals already had this as the #3 WR class with Milton and Ambles. It'll be #1 in the morning when they update.

You make a good point. Bama does have other good RB depth besides the three I mentioned, such as Upchurch (Sr), Griffin (Medical redishirt Soph out this season with knee injury), Terry Grant (Jr) who appears to be moving to slot receiver this week, Goode (Jr), etc. Even with Ingram (So), Richardson (Fr) and Lacy (Fr), Bama was still able to land for 2010 both Jalston Fowler, the big power back that Bama really wanted, and Cory Grant, a smaller speedy RB who will more likely play in the slot as much if not more than at RB. Both were in-state players. Bama had to battle Auburn to some extent and UF pretty hard to get Corey Grant. But it was proving fruitless to try to land a RB as highly ranked as Dyer, Seastrunk, Lattimore, Mack Brown, etc. Bama was getting nowhere with them. For example, UF was more attractive to Brown than Bama and UGA, because UF didn't really have many if any RBs of his caliber on their depth chart.

Gran deserves a raise next year in my opinion. Someone is going to want to steal him eventually. I really hope we retain this guy at all cost.

Bama lost a couple of great 2007 signees to pro baseball and one took a couple of years of prep school work to finally get qualified. A couple of 2008 guys are going through Juco and will be part of the 2010 class. Three 2008 guys have transferred elsewhere. So Bama's recent signees attrition hasn't been too bad at all.

Auburn, on the other hand, has lost a lot of their signees from the last two or three classes. They only had about 75 players on scholly for this fall camp and ended up giving some schollies to walk-ons. Auburn's got some talent starting and a little bit of quality depth here and there, but they are dangerously thin in some areas, like OL, LB and DB. Any significant injuries in those areas could spell big trouble for them.

That's no joke.

I think they beat them, but everyone should worry about Vandy this year. Larry Smith is one of the better QBs in our conference. Give me him over Garcia or Joe Cox for sure. He also has a strong running game to back him up and their star rusher is out with an injury.
