'10 FL WR Ted Meline

That's no joke.

I think they beat them, but everyone should worry about Vandy this year. Larry Smith is one of the better QBs in our conference. Give me him over Garcia or Joe Cox for sure. He also has a strong running game to back him up and their star rusher is out with an injury.

Hey Sabo Larry Smith was good at Prattville. I'm not surprised at the success he's having.

Meline at WR. Move Teague back on defense.

You are out of your damn mind.

Why? They really wanted Teague as a DB before we got so thin at wide receiver. Right now he's basically filling in for Gerald Jones. When Jones returns, he'll be the go to guy. Jones is also only a junior. With him returning next year and all the WR's we have coming next year, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

I think you got your story a little mixed up...

UF wanted Teague at DB....one of the main reasons he came here was because we told him he'd get a fair shot at WR...

He's been a WR from day one here...and he was our best WR last weekend...despite the fact that he's only played the position for about 1 month now...

There's not a snowballs chance in hell Teague gets moved...he fits the slot WR role perfectly

Teague will not be moved to DB. He runs the best routes out of all the freshman and has the best hands. Gerald Jones isn't automatically going to take his PT under any means.

Jones has to prove he is healthy as well as prove he's lost some weight from last year and is back in the same shape he was as a true freshman. I still cant believe the bad weight the previous staff added on him. Crazy.

It would seem that statement applies to every player on the team...

Plus, if G Jones is going to take PT away from anyone it'll be Warren, not Teague

Yes very true. Gerald Jones and Rogan especially added bad weight. They were so much more athletic and fluid as freshman compared to sophomores.

But of course the entire offensive line was fat and out of shape as well.

We just need to be glad a change was made when it was or this program may have gotten into a hole they never could have gotten out of.

There was an article in the paper yesterday that talked about Monte lobbying HARD for Lane to let him have Teague on the defensive side of the ball. He was recruited as an "athlete" and the article said that Teague told the coaches to basically let him know where they wanted him and that it didn't matter to him what side of the ball he played on as long as he played. The deciding factor for putting Teague at WR because we had become so thin at the WR position.

If Tennessee hangs on to Ambles, Milton, Meline... maybe he can be moved over to the other side of the ball. Heck, those may not be the only wide receivers Tennessee brings in.

I am not a Bear or Bama fan. I am a huge Tennessee fan. The name was selected to be ironic and mocking of the idiot trolls on this board.

For example, when I first started reading this board there were obvious Bama and/or Florida trolls with names like 'Volman9000' or 'UTFAN45'. It was clear that these genetic mutants were trolls. So I decided to do the opposite.

Needless to say it hasn't gone over to well and people are generally confused. But I guess that was kinda the point. I don't know.

I like it.

If Teague is successful as it looks like he might be at wr, there is no way they move him to db.

Just got around to the newest Scout.com video with good ole C-daddy Simmons (UGA) interviewing Meline.

•currently Meline says he's at 6'3 & 175

•name is pronounced muh-leen.

•wants to leave the state.

•wants to commit in the spring.

He didn't look very comfortable and to be honest he seemed mildly annoyed during the interview, but I probably would be, too, if I was getting hounded by C-Daddy Simmons. Simmons has really started to annoy me, because when he interviews southern prospects he always asks them about UF/UGA and other schools and he seems to be deliberately trying to avoid Tennesseee. He is one of the biggest homers around at this point.

btw: look for some of Meline's teammates at Booker T. to make the trip to Tennessee with him---Lynden Trail and maybe 1-2 others.
Just wanted to bump this because I've heard all kinds of different pronunciations of his name. It's Muh-leen.

I know it is a long way till signing day and anything can happen, but Sab, do you think Meline stays commited to UT? I have a feeling he is somebody that would look elsewhere, espeacially if we got Stills. I would love for him to stick around, I just have a bad feeling about him.

Any thoughts?

He's the one guy I am not sure about. It sounds like he committed as an athlete though and I think the guy loves competition. Hard to say what will happen if we bring in two more DBs and another WR.

I think Meline will come in like just about every other "ATH" that weighs under 200 lbs. He'll get a serious look at WR and if he's competent and makes plays, he'll stay put. If not, he'll be moved to Safety. Either way, I think he's got great upside and is already used to playing against quality players down there in Miami.

I'd really like to see him stay at WR and be our burner.
