Dunkley offered by Miami, names new top five
Class of 2010 ESPNU 150 Watch List wide receiver Chris Dunkley was recently extended a scholarship offer by the Hurricanes, affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.

He commented on the receiver depth chart in Coral Cables, Fla., "I've been thinking about it, and by the time I'm there all their receivers will be juniors."

Additionally, Dunkley named the five schools are currently leading for his services, "It's Florida, Florida State, West Virginia, Georgia and Miami."

2/10

From the UM site. Video interview with Dunkley who holds offers from the big Florida three along with Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina, WVU, Michigan, USF, Vanderbilt and BC. He wants to play where his parents can watch him, and says he hates the cold.

West Virginia? who leaves sunny Florida for West Virginia? no way he goes there and who can name a single WR to have played for them? I'd be impressed if someone could name some without using a search engine.

Jock Sanders.
Boom.

Well he's more of a Dexter McCluster/Percy Harvin type guy.

You can throw Darius Reynaud on that list of talented, i've-heard-of WVU receivers.

"I'm real close with Nu'Keese. He's like my brother," Dunkley said. "He said he likes it (Tennessee) a lot. He said it's a lot of pressure, pressure, pressure (in recruiting). He told me when I make my decision, make sure it's not for your homeboy but where you want to play."

I get the feeling Chris wants to commit early. I don't think he's gonna stretch the process out or anything.

Also, it doesn't mean much, but I changed my facebook status to something vol related, and get a message from him about an hour later saying Go Vols.

I'd love to get him though. He's gonna be electric.

UT's WR talent has dipped to the lowest point in several decades. We need kids like Chris to restore the fame of "WR U"

Honestly, I don't think its a bad idea really. Directly with the recruit, no bias by a writer, interviewer, ..etc

I mean, I'm not taking it for much, but its still out there.

its just probably best not to bother any recruits too much... they already get enough attention and a lot of them don't like it. lol if they talk, great, but if not.. just leave them be.

It says his high school head coach played for West Virginia. I was wondering why he had them in his top 5 a while ago

WVU has actually done well in Florida. Their top recruiter, Doc Holliday, has built several good relationships down there. He's a WVU alum that was a part of Urban Meyer's staff before Bill Stewart hired him to join the WVU program.

That works too I completely forgot about him

Does he have to sit out a year? Is his transferring a good and bad thing for us?

Not sure, but I doubt he would have transferred if that were the case. As for as a good or bad thing for us, I don't think it could possibly be bad. If we can sign this kid and get him in here next year, it can only be a good thing. He is obviously talented.

No need to sit out a year in high school.

If you get him, you'll have really earned the right to crow. I understand that Meyer is recruiting him personally. It would be like Nuke * 10.
