He's a tweener and that's one of the knocks on him. He will probably end up at safety though. Another knock is that he has all the measurables with the 4.2 speed and what not, but he just doesn't dominate like he should...

If he can qualify, he would have a HUGE upside with his athleticism. Monte could teach him how to really play...

His upside is crazy. And with this staff being here I trust that we could bring the best out of him. Fulmer and Slade would have me wanting him go to another school for his sake.

Actually it is due to a neck injury he suffered at ECU (as others have alluded to). IIRC, he had to have some vertebrae fused back together, or something to that effect.

You can listen to him do interviews and tell he doesn't have tourettes though ;p

You can have tourettes and not just say random words or anything. One of my old teachers had a mild case of it and he would just twitch every once in a while.

But ESPN just showed on the ticker how Dorsey, Trail, and Dunbar were all staying committed for Florida despite Meyer quitting.

It would look bad for them to decommit so soon imo. The impact of Meyer's leave may not be visible until NSD. We will have to wait and see how things play out. Go get 'em Lane.

doubt he ends up gator and the way he is performing at the camp he would be a huge get...he is apparently faster than Jeff Demps and broke Demps 100yd dash record at a combine over the summer

TIFWIW...but the Rivals evaluation of Dorsey at the UA practice had him as a physical db...making one of the biggest hits of the day...

he's always been iffy becaue of the depth chart issue but with Haden most likely gone, Moses Jenkins/J Brown both have health issues, Dwling moving to offense and Elam decommitting(rumor so far) he could see time at corner and safety plus return punts. Real issue for gators and vol with recruiting him is his grades. IMO he won't make it into a SEC class so look for USF,UM,WVU and hearing he may visit Louisville. I think if he decommits or can't make it into SEC then he follows Strong.

Ronald Powell, a defensive end from Moreno Valley, Calif., who is scheduled to play in next week's U.S. Army All-American Bowl, had originally planned to announce a commitment to Florida this week on ESPN. But after the Meyer's weekend flip-flop, Powell changed his plans. "He's pretty freaked out right now," Rancho Verde high coach Pete Duffy told ESPN.com on Monday.


Perhaps most interesting, not all players committed to the affected schools have received equal attention from rival coaches. Richards, the Texas Tech commit, said he hasn't heard from anyone. "They know I'm solid," Richards said. Meanwhile, Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., defensive back Demar Dorsey said he has heard from the other schools he's considering. That list includes Ohio State, Tennessee, West Virginia and USC, and Dorsey added that he was communicating with those schools before the Meyer news broke. It's indicative of how easy it is to turn Meyer's choice into a recruiting weapon against Florida that none of the other schools' coaches, according to Dorsey, even bothered to comment on the situation beyond reminding Dorsey it had taken place.

"I'm still committed," Dorsey said. "I'd say 65 percent that I go to Florida."

Look for him to end up at WVU... but if he can get the grades I think he'll be here.

I don't see Dorsey ending up at Florida.

I think in the end it is Tennessee if he has his academics in order, if not he'll end up at West Virginia or someplace like that known for always landing huge academic risks.

With matt heading to FSU and with the Haden maybe heading to the NFL look for Meyer to make Dorsey a keep. He had an issue with the numbers but that's working itself out but i don't think WVU will get him, he's really tight with Strong so look for them to be a player until NSD.
