I think it's funny to watch the Gator faithful start saying that they now have better prospects on the board, yet when they took his commitment, he was the best thing since sliced bread with his speed. This guy can make a difference on the field anywhere he is positioned.
Does Dorsey have any serious interest?
Dorsey has some interest, but only IF he gets here, he will show something other than passing interest at best. It's kinda like window shopping in recruiting, if you can get a recruit to come inside and see what you got because of your window display, chances are you make the sell.
I don't see him not coming after his official has been payed for...
You and a fellow gator poster talked about a "surprise" UF commit that may be wavering (paraphrasing) is Dorsey that recruit? Can't find anything on the gatorboards except for him saying he's 100% Gator and being done with recruiting(which may be a month old). Do you think this has anything to do with Riley and maybe Tony Jefferson wanting to visit?
I don't necessarily think that it's some conspiracy against UF with Kiffin doing his best to negative recruit against you all. I simply think that now, more than any time in the Fulmer era, UT is pursuing elite talent that you guys are pursuing as well. You can't fault Kiffin for being a good salesman and selling the state of our program versus yours. Everyone knows that FL has tremendous depth especially on the defensive side of the ball, whereas TN is working to get to that point and can sell early playing time. Some of your early commits are finally starting to realize this and it obviously works in our favor. Kiffin is a very calculated coach but I don't think he is deliberately trying to sabotage your class, he's simply competing, which is the mantra he's repeated since his hire. Now if we happen to make things difficult for one of our rivals in the process...I guess that's just icing on the cake.![]()
I don't know who the Gator guy was talking about. I think Elam is still wavering but that's jmo...
I've always felt Dorsey would end up somewhere besides UF. Back in the spring he talked about how he didn't like UFs depth chart/DB commits and was going to look around. Since then, he's said he's all Gator, but that doubt is still in his mind. I don't think UT would take his commitment right now (but they might due to his speed and huge upside). I think we have alot of DBs ahead of him. He could end up at WVU or FSU...

Cooper is a safety though, Dorsey is that NB that you have to account for every passing play.
NB? You mean CB?
Rivals lists both as Safeties, and if I were picking a Safety between the two I would pick Cooper and not even think twice. Dorsey can play both the CB and S positions where Cooper is limited to just S on Defense so it's hard to compare as DBs, but just as far as Safeties, i'd take Cooper.
Now, I'm probably biased because I've spoken to Cooper on numerous occasions and think he's a really good kid.
I'm was referring to Dorsey being a nickelback type CB. Being in that rover spot where you have to keep up with him more. I don't like him as a cover corner though, he has the speed to keep up, but I see him as a freelancer than can get burned as well.
He can't play nickle all the time though, only on certain plays. Maybe as a freshman, but eventually he is going to have to pick between CB and S.
