Where do you stand with your Florida commitment?

"With Florida, I'm at like 80% with them right now as far as being committed"

Have any visits planned?

"No visits set right now, but I plan to take some. I'm gonna go to West Virginia, USC, probably Tennessee, and maybe a couple more"

I would say the reason being is Doc Holliday is the recruiting coordinator at WVU and he used to be on our staff, and has many connections in Florida. I think UT is so popular because of how big a legend Monte Kiffin is in Florida especially among HS football coaches.

It has more to do with how aggressive Kiffin is in regards to Florida commitments. Say whatever you want but Kiffin has really taken his feud with Florida personal. He is driven to find ways to zing Florida.

I think this could be something like the Victor Hampton situation. I have been hearing all year that Dorsey is struggling on the field and there are a few other Safety prospects that Florida would rather recruit over him..specifically 2 guys from California. I don't think we pull his offer....but let's just say that we won't put in the same effort to keep him that we did with Matt Elam. I eventually see Dorsey going to either Miami or Tennessee while Florida goes hard after Riley and Jefferson to replace him.

The funny thing is, UT may not be that high on him either. I think we would take Dixon and Wright and be done with it. I'm not sure either where Dorsey projects best, position-wise. Was UF looking at him for safety or corner?

I hope Florida attempts to do this. It's playing with fire and Elam won't like it.

Which is exactly why I think this is like Victor Hampton. With all due respect, we all know that Kiffin has a thing for UF right now. I really think that Victor Hampton would be recruited harder by UT if he were still committed to Florida. I think Kiffin wants to land these guys just so he can tell you guys at booster meetings that he took one from Florida.

Elam is a Gator. There isn't much more to debate. I know your insiders are saying he will switch to UT but unless the kid is really trying to screw UF then he will be a Gator.

We all agree that Elam is a gator now. No one is saying he will switch to UT. We will recruit him up until the very last second. If Urban starts to toy with other safety recruits, it just gives us a better pitch.

I don't necessarily think that it's some conspiracy against UF with Kiffin doing his best to negative recruit against you all. I simply think that now, more than any time in the Fulmer era, UT is pursuing elite talent that you guys are pursuing as well. You can't fault Kiffin for being a good salesman and selling the state of our program versus yours. Everyone knows that FL has tremendous depth especially on the defensive side of the ball, whereas TN is working to get to that point and can sell early playing time. Some of your early commits are finally starting to realize this and it obviously works in our favor. Kiffin is a very calculated coach but I don't think he is deliberately trying to sabotage your class, he's simply competing, which is the mantra he's repeated since his hire. Now if we happen to make things difficult for one of our rivals in the process...I guess that's just icing on the cake.:p

It's not this "thing" you keep referencing. That's absurd.

He is taking advantage of Monte's rep in the place where the man is most legendary. Just so happens that UF is recruiting all the best players there.

Can we just admit that if there's any program (especially in the southeast) not trying to recruit Florida at all, they probably aren't a very successful team?
