Offensive tackle
Cape Coral (FL) Cape Coral

Ht: 6-foot-6
Wt: 260 lbs
Class: 2010

He shows a Tennessee offer and had good things to say about the program. He currently lists us in his top-3.

"I would say that Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Wake Forest standout for me."

"Tennessee is a school I like. I like the SEC a lot. They have such good competition. I have not seen their facilities but they look nice on internet. So does the stadium. The coaches are all pretty much NFL coaches. Their offensive line coach was in NFL. So were the Kiffins (Lane and Monte)."

I'll update the OP if an ESPNU or MaxPreps profile is created.

Would love to see several 4* and 5* star lineman come to the Hill. I know this has been said in several threads, but, we need all of the big nasties we can get.

I agree. We've got these great RB's now we have to get some top linemen to block for them. I see the linemen CLK brings in next year getting alot of playing time.

"Oklahoma State, Tennessee and Wake Forest" = UT is the only leader even though his brother plays for OSU.

We might want to get a quick commit before other FL schools offer

I'd rather have a 260 pounder that can put on some weight and muscle than the 320 lb. lardasses we have been recruiting.

NYC posted this a little bit ago on VQ before this rumor was posted on here. This a good sign. He was predicticting UTs next 5 commits:

If i had to guess, based on timeline, interest etc... here would be my 5. Now consider that this is a ridiculous thing to do, because it is so hard to tell...

1.Dan Koenig OL
2.James Carmon DL
3.Patrick Harris DL
4.Andrew Hendrix(if offered)/Juwan James (not sure if we get him, but if we do it will be soon)
5.James Stone ( Actually not sure when he is deciding)

Just spoke to Dan Koenig

He took a visit to Rocky Top a few weeks ago, loved it in Knoxville. Tennessee is currently in his top four, but no commitment.

He picked up two new offers this past week from Missouri and Nebraska. I will have a story later on his Knoxville visit.

Per Bryant... The rumors are untrue...

While Koenig lists Tennessee among his four favorites along with Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma State – where his two brothers played – he knows that many college coaches are expected to visit Cape Coral over the next couple of weeks of spring camp.

"There's going to be coaches down here from the 12th to the 21st. Oklahoma State, Missouri, Tennessee; Connecticut and Pittsburgh already have been down," Koenig said. "We start spring (practice) on Monday, just in uppers. I'm sure there will be more coaches over the next few days, I think Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Miami are going to be here."

On Knoxville:
“It was a great trip,” Koenig said. “I really like their coaching staff a lot. They have so much energy and there is so much excitement surrounding their program right now.”

“It's incredible,” Koenig said. “I was very impressed with the campus and facilities. I can't imagine how loud their stadium is on game day.”

“Right now I'm not rushing things,” Koenig said. “When I'm sure that I'm comfortable with a certain school I will go ahead and make my commitment. Right now I'm not sure when that will be.”

"I have seen North Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Oklahoma State, Miami, Central Florida, South Florida, and Southern Miss. That has given me a head start on recruiting. I still want to see Ole Miss, Missouri, and Nebraska. I also want to see Oklahoma State and Tennessee again. I am open but those schools kind of standout to me. If Florida were to offer they would be there right too."

Sounds like he is begging Meyer for an offer. He might get one if he goes to Gainesville and model a pair of Teebows in the locker room for UM.

Tennessee Pushing Hard

“I’ve been to Tennessee,” Koenig said, “I like their facilities they are getting a new weight room. They have all new coaches which are pretty cool, they come from the NFL.

“Coach Gran came down here and checked me out at practice he already offered me, (Gran) was checking out some other players on the team, but they really like me. Tennessee said I could play full time early they are losing tackles five seniors are leaving next year. Auburn said I could play early too.”
