'10 FL OT Chaz Green

we appealed to the NCAA either extra time or extension of the period because of our situation with the departing coach. No sure if approved but MH would know. There would be time to do it tomorrow if available. The period starts Sunday night?
i thought they appealed for more official visits. that's very different than permitting a school to operate beyond the limits of the NCAA calendar.

the Quiet Period has begun and will run until the end of today. No in-person contact except on campus. That means Chaz Green would have to fly from Los Angeles to Knoxville through the storm to see the Tennessee staff. His parents did not accompany him to USC so they would have to fly up as well tomorrow during the storm. Monday starts a Dead Period where no in-person contact is permitted. Its restrictions are withdrawn back to Quiet Period status on Friday and last for months.

So barring the NCAA granting permissions I've never heard of them granting, the only hope for the Greens to get face time with the staff is in Knoxville either in the next 24 hours or sometime Friday and beyond. unless Green puts off signing past NSD it looks like phone calls are all you're going to get.

If Chaz goes to USC or UF, it is no big loss since he will be sitting on their bench. At the same time he would be dreaming about being in the rotation at UT. I would rather have a kid that values UT.

All true. Except maybe the emphasis on the storm.

OL coach has to have taken test and be approved to contact recruit...he could of done this week but if not he cannot talk to our go to home of Chaz.

Just a guess here..but I would think maybe that is why this is just coming out now. The bears season has been over for a while. I would bet he has already taken the test, and will be sent in to try and steal a few OL kids in the last couple days. Otherwise......why not wait and announce the OL coach when they announce the DL, and DC. JMO

lets see....what was chaz's number again? oh found it....calling chaz green....ring, ring, ring.....we have a oline coach now.

We all believe that Chaz is not stupid. Once he has toured the ghetto USC calls home and see Yaw Yaw and Kiffin lying to his face, perhaps he will remember that his parents loved their time at UT and it is a school where he can be a hero.

As long as he does not go to UF.

At least at USC he will have to pay the probation price for following the liars.

I am probably in the minority, but I am glad X came and shook things up a little after Fulmer. However, I am also glad that Dooley is here. He has been amazing, and I think he has opened things up for recruits who would not have meshed with X. However, I do not understand the timing of this hire.

If he would have just hired the OL coach 2 or 3 days sooner, it looks from this vantage point like we would have had a MUCH BETTER shot at landing some top-level OL recruits.

Having said that, Dooley has done a ton of work since getting here, and there is a lot we do not know about what is going on behind the scenes. I guess maybe will know more after Wednesday, and I am sure there were some timing issues with the hires.

As time passes we will all see it was good to have Coach X right after Fulmar, I see it being a good thing for are coach now. We have someone else to hate.

I think we will remember X worse as time passes. His departure will only grow in stature and become epic. I think he actually helped Fulmer's legacy because Fulmer at least was committed.

History will hate X

X put us back on the map which is what our program desperately needed. I believe DD is seeing some success because of it.
We were never off the map. We appeared to have a huge class comming in before Fulmer was let go, and managed to keep it in the top 10. Kiffin had a huge class comming in before he ran off, and Dooley appears to be on the verge of keeping it in the top 5 with even less time to work with than Kiff had last year. It's not Kiffin, it's UT. Whether you like him or not, Fulmer is the one that put UT on the map. Despite what Kiffin would like us to believe, we were able to recruit before he got here, and we're able to recruit now that he's gone.

Well we know CDD will be the focus of the recruiting breakfast at USC Thursday.

Kiffin will turn in CDD for calling Chaz this weekend.

Because, you know, its illegal to call recruits while they are at another campus.

Ok. You have to admit though, we got a lot of media coverage (mostly bad ) with x in the national media. Durring the Fulmer days we were not talked about very much. People grew to expect us to be mediocre at best. X's plan was to give us pub. which he did. The VOLS re entered peoples homes around the country again. DD is benefiting from that.

I agree 100%
