T.C.'s Chaz Green recognized by Rivals

Tampa Catholic junior offensive tackle Chaz Green has been listed among the nation’s top 250 prospects by Rivals.com

Green, a 6-foot-6, 290-pounder, was ranked No. 155 in the just-released Rivals 250. The website ranked him a four-star prospect.

Green, who transferred from Palm Harbor for his junior season, already owns scholarship offers from USF, Michigan, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Miami, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Ohio State and Notre Dame.

Tampa Catholic teammate Christian Green was just named the nation’s 37th best prospect by Rivals, and Hillsborough safety Terrence Mitchell was named 79th

A lot of heavy hitters are offering this kid. Are there any recruiting vidoes of this kid?

IMO he stays in state. Even though both his parents went to UT, he didn't mention that in any of his rivals interviews so it doesn't seem like too much of a big deal. He's very high on the gators too and i think thats where he ends up.

new article up

With very little depth on the offensive line, Tennessee offers early playing time and that is attractive to Green. He is planning a trip to Knoxville in the coming weeks and says he'll be looking for certain things from Lane Kiffin and his program.

"Coach Reeves has told me that they have good facilities," Green said. "That will be nice to see. I want to see how the players interact. I want to get to know the coaches and see what they have planned."

The more big uglies, the better. We just really need depth right now. We all know what it is like to kidnap a Gator from Meyer, it pretty freakin fun.

but I do believe it is between Tennessee, Florida, and Florida State.

Chaz is teammates with Christian Green also (they are not related). I am pretty confident that Christian is going to FSU, but if Chaz does decide on UT, that could be a tool that the coaches could, and mostly would use to also try to get Christian.

Right now though, Chaz is very high on the Gators.

"Florida is my top school right now," Green said. "I like the coaches and the players, especially coach (Steve) Addazio. I have been up there for one of their spring football practices and they are recruiting me as an offensive tackle."

"I like Tennessee. I like the offensive line coach. They seem to be headed in the right direction. I want to check them out. They seem like they know what they are talking about and those coaches have NFL experience. They will turn that program around.

"My parents went to Tennessee and graduated from there. They would like to see me go there but they will also support whatever decision I make."

Per Rivals... He really doesn't sound too high on Florida St. All he says about them is "I have been talking with Florida State a lot lately. I really want to consider them."

A good season with better offensive production, better record, better discipline, etc will turn a kid like this onto our team.

We have made a concerted effort to get in touch with him since that last trip, and 'going underground' is a good way to describe it.

Since he apparently is shutting everyone out I don't think that his silence necessarily means anything negative for Tennessee.

I bumped into Chaz and his family while they were on campus that week and everyone was definitely enjoying the visit.

I think you have to call Florida the leader based on his previous comments, but as long as he doesn't pull the trigger over the summer I would give Tennessee a chance.
