listening this afternoon to 790 AM "The Ticket" in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area they had Tom Luginville on who said that he didn't think there was anyway that Luc would get out of the state, and that he thinks he will mostly likely be a Gator.

Also said that he thinks Luc is the best LB recruit in the country and will make an immediate impact as a true frosh.

referred to him as "Luck" though and not "Luke" and I thought we had decided it was "Luke" so maybe he doesn't know what the eff he is talking about if he isn't getting the guy's name right.

FWIW

He's out of the loop and they were the team to beat for the longest time. He's like alot of the other experts were for a while. He simply doesn't recognize the fact that we took the lead.

Luginbill is more into scouting than hunting for insider news about where kids end up....I wouldn't listen to him much in regards to where a kid goes and more of what he says about their talent

I don't listen to most of these sites when it comes to recruiting. I prefer people that specialize with a specific team with recruiting. Last year rivals had Jenkins pinned to go to Penn St on signing day when most gator insiders were considering him a lock to UF. These big recruiting services don't seem to be that up to date, especially Scout.

Most gator insiders I come across believe every top prospect is all gator..

The insiders that I listen to are not the ones that think anyone who comes to visit UF is a gator. Plus I read multiple sources to form my own opinion.

Fact is there are a lot of top prospects that are considering the gators, but obviously we are not getting everyone.

As for Luc, I really don't know what he wants to do, but IMO it's closer than other people on this board think and if it turns out I am wrong I have no problem admitting it. Things should start to heat up in about a month with all the EEs have to start picking their schools, Luc, possibly being one of them.

If Luc truly is a silent commit does anyone see him starting in the middle from day one? I feel like this class really didn't play freshman as much as they lead on (Janzen and Bryce would get playing time anywhere in the country).

I know he has the body, but is he in that "step right in and star" class.

I don't feel you can play as many 1st year players in the SEC, due to it being so physical. Luc is a man beast and can contribute if he has a head on his shoulders.
GO VOLS

Agreed. It's very tough for an 18-year old to take the physical punishment of the SEC. That said, Nick Reveiz should be back from his injury and would be the perfect mentor for Jeff. Plus we have all heard how tough it is to learn the defensive calls the MLB has to make so the learning curve could be a big factor as well.

There aren't many LBs ready to start at the collegiate level from a mental approach. LBs need to read and react rather than think, which is too slow. I would venture that none are truly ready because there is too much they've never seen.

Especially if their hips aren't fluid.
