'10 FL LB Jeff Luc

Isnt it kinda strange how even 2 weeks ago Jeff Luc was a "gator lock" and one of the best defensive, if not overall recruits out there, and then it leaks out that Tennessee may possibly lead for him. He loses a star, and now there are all kinds of questions about his game, and his overall worth.

I wouldn't say his overall worth has been diminished any. Rivals will make a mountain out of a mole hill. It just so happened the one game he was judged on he had trouble getting out of blocks. As its been stated his quickness has come into question and his lateral movement leaves more to be desired, but he is our main priority (unlike Florida). That is why Jeff Luc will be wearing orange come next year.

Under Armour All-American inside linebacker Jeff Luc and Treasure Coast (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) kept Fort Pierce Central (Fla.) off the scoreboard during Friday night's 10-0 homecoming victory, tcplam.com reports.

The shutout included one goalline stand when Central ran seven plays from inside the Treasure Coast four yard line but was unable to score.

"We were saying that we weren't going to give them anything. We haven't had a goose egg all season, and we just fought hard, baby," Luc said of the defensive stand. The coaches put us in great position to make plays, and look what happened ? goose egg."

Regardless of the number of stars next to his name, Luc is the best inside linebacker in the country. Big, strong, nice burst, and underrated hips. Kiffin will be getting a good one.

jmva, what u hearing about Luc? I think he is going to be a vol

I'm hearing its about 60/40 UF/UT right now but it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he ended up with UT. Loves the idea of playing for Monte Kiffin but also has a very good relationship with Charlie Strong.

I do not think we will get Hicks. I believe he goes to OSU. If we get a visit then it might help us but not that much.

Also I understand people getting excited I was referring to people that flip when it doesn't look like a player might come.

The fact is UT is in a good situation for recruiting. It is not like Spurrier who is a great recruiter and ball coach, but goes to USC and can't get the recruits still.

Look at it from a business prespective. UT, no matter how well the program is doing still maintains a large market share. They have great staying power, which means players will always look at them as a top tier school. The SEC and college football is about tradition. Something that develops over the long years, not a few good ones. Players automatically believe UT will be back, just like UA when Saban got there. Even before Saban we had good classes recruiting but coaching was less desirable. Not many schools can say after a loosing season and a new coach they will still be inline for the top recruits.

I also like Luc alot. I just don't want to see Hicks at UF and Luc at UT and have to play against them both. We pick UF up next two years in the rotation.

He has been judged on far more than one game, and he has had trouble getting off of blocks in more than one game.

Got anymore great recruiting news for us or copy and paste material?

I didn't state anything that hasn't already been said, but I do feel that rivals puts too much weight in certain occasions on what they see in games then they magnify it.

What happens when Charlie Strong gets his HC job....surely to God our staff is putting that in his ear...CCS is not going to be there for to much longer.

If you're going to be a skill SEC player, you should have at least a 60/40 split between fast and slow twitch fibers.
