I am pretty certain he made the Scroggins claim BEFORE USC offered him and at the time he was all but a lock to UT.

Yeah, I also remember that he was discouraged that USC offered late and called it an insult. So there was still a chance he would be a UT lock. But of course we all know the rest of the story. :)

Sorry for the historical summary. I had to do a "what happen the last time" flashback when Mr. Confident was convinced we were going to get him. Now he has strike again with Elam and Luc.

I would rather keep my mouth shut

No, the other guy that looked like a recruit in the middle. I saw them going into the stadium, and Luc was on the back facing backwards, a bunch of hostesses were all around, and there was a light skinned, slighter built, recruit-aged kid sitting in the middle seat. Just wondering who that might have been.

I agree with you. The Scroggins fiasco from ooltewahvol was irritating to no end. If I were him I would just keep my mouth shut about any other rumors, middle man...source....or no source. It was one of the bigger fails I have seen on here.

Have no idea...i was shocked that i even saw him. We were about 200 meters up the hill from the stadium and they were driving down the hill towards the stadium.

Sounds like we don't have a great shot at this guy but, what an edition he would be to an already impressive 2010 class. Another chess piece for Monte to play with.

I was right behind him for a moment. I didn't even realize it was a cart o'recruits until somebody yelled, "Luc, look at this, you don't want to be a gator!" Then a drunken Auburn fan mumbled something about molesting cows and they drove off to navigate the traffic barriers going into the stadium.

It's hard to tell a lot from a 30 second glimpse, but it was head on, and he didn't seem unhappy. His haircut does make him look like a conehead, though.

Actually I'm almost 100% positive that he was quoted in saying that Monte wanted to use him at LB like he used Derrick Brooks (who was def not a DE). Maybe Irvin could be a rush DE on passing situations, but thats it

Um Actually It came straight from Irvin's mouth that we wanted him to gain 30 pounds and use him as a rush DE.

yea, but he said that when he was saying that the staff hadn't contacted him in 3 wks either. I didn't buy anything he said in that interview. I think he was trying to cover for not making the grades to get into the sec. I have read several places that they had recruited him as a olb.

I spoke with a couple of the Orange Pride girls. They said Luc loved his visit and we are in REAL good standing with him. But who knows what kind of a face he can put on for a pretty girl. They seemed to think our chances were good!

I dunno honestly. I think we were in a close 3rd going into this weekend. To make a run at signing him, we had to absolutely blow him away on his visit. The feeling I'm getting is that we did not do that...
