I do love the Simpsons. No I don't love redbull. I'm praying next years recruiting class in basketball brings some help to Kenny (Hopefully Emanuel will be back), but Williams should be much improved true center type by then (although a little undersized). As far as Jeff Luc goes there has been quite a bit of murmuring about his love for Monte and the suggested role he would fill, but like I said earlier looks like he is wavering on deciding on us or not. I wouldn't be surprised if he waited until after his USC visit (10-23) to make his decision, which I ultimately believe will be us.

This isnt even a possibility.

Don't know if this was posted yet or not but... Rivals is reporting that Luc is showing some flaws in his game and has been downgraded to a 4-Star prospect and slid down to the #25 spot on the Rivals 100:

Port St. Lucie (Fla.) Treasure Coast linebacker Jeff Luc dropped from the No. 12 spot to No. 25, and also slid from five stars to four. The 6-1, 230-pounder remains one of the nation's most elite players, but a senior evaluation by Rivals.com analysts showed a few small flaws in his game.

"Luc struggled to get off blocks and it was apparent that his inability to make plays versus Daytona Beach Mainland was hampered by stiffness issues," Every said. "The bottom line is a five-star linebacker should be making plays regardless of the opponent, and Luc was unproductive.

"That should not take away from all of the positives he brings to the table. We're still talking about a kid that ranks among the top 25 players in the nation. He's still an extremely special player that will definitely see early playing time on special teams and work his way into the starting lineup by his second season. He also remains one of the hardest-hitting prospects in the nation."

Sometimes they make it seem like a 17-18 year old kid isn't allowed to have a bad game. I didn't know we were all perfect in high school.

Stars mean nothing...I don't think anybody is going to pull thier offer to Luc because he lost a star LMAO....Silly talk

I was under the impression that Negedu could possibly play after this year depending on heart. Is that not true? Luc losing his fifth isn't that huge of a suprise. Rivals will take a few flaws and make them into a big deal.If anyone has watched his ability to run in space they shouldn't be overally concerned with his lateral mobility.

Negedu's basketball career is finished.

But why are people talking about basketball in this thread?

"Linebacker Jeff Luc of Port St. Lucie (Fla.) Treasure Coast also was considered a FSU lean at one point, but now appears to favor Florida and Tennessee. Actually, Luc may not be as high on the Gators' list as some think, as the Gators are higher on linebackers Jones and Jordan Hicks of West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West."

mike farrell in the weekly whispers article on rivals. does this boost our chances with luc??

Do you have a link to the video? Can not seem to find it.

I would say so. The longer his recruitment carries out, the better it bodes for us. I mean we sent CLK to him Tuesday, and I'm sure Monte dropped by yesterday as well. CLK is a great salesman and I think he could pull this one in. I have a lot of faith in this stuff, and if Monte says that he is a perfect fit in our system, then I let the Super Bowl ring do the talking.

THANK YOU!!!!!!! this is football season, and a football thread, screw basketball. Football rules the world, we can worry about "basketball" when the basketball season starts

Now that we have an official with Hicks for the FSU game that may be the case and someone on ESPN even said we may lead for him. Although, I believe we have very little chance with Christian Jones, I think there is a chance we get Hicks, it's kind of reminding me of Jelani Jenkins last year. We would definitely take Luc regardless but maybe we are worried about his speed and Hicks may just fit better. Personally, I want both but I'm greedy like that.

Am I the only one who finds rivals analysis weird...

Jordan Hicks 5*
Jeff Luc 4*

Jordan Hicks reminds us of Tavares Gooden
Jeff Luc reminds us of Ernie Sims

I had to look up who Tavares Gooden even was... So Hicks reminds them of a mediocre linebacker and Luc reminds them of a stud but Hicks is rated higher. What the...

wish he would just hurry up and committ to someone lol

This one may take a while. We have to be prepared that when you target top guys you are going to be in wait and see mode for quite a few as they like the attention leading up to signing day.

I thought I read he was an EE. Doesn't that mean he has to choose before December is over? That's not too long of a wait.
