NYC from what I remember is a young guy (in his teens) that wrote for Rivals and switched this year to Scout. He used to contribute to our board, and would drop nuggets of info on VN. He is very reliable and well liked here.

NYC misses and or is wrong more than he is right I hate to tell you guys. So dont get your hopes up too much. You can search back to last years class and the one before and he always put out a list of who we would get and most times he would be no more correct than anyone else.

I think hes only 17 years old maybe 18 now? He loves recruiting and has connections to the staff now, pretty sure LWS or someone else put him in touch with Coach O shortly after the staff got hired but still, dont take any of his predictions to the bank.

Edit: The only poster I have ever considered 100% reliable and will probably stay that way is LWS. He has never put anything out there unless he knew 100%.

i don't really care how old he is, he still has better sources and more access than all of us...so if he's saying that we get luc then he's probably heard it from someone in the know. that being said if recruiting was an exact science then what fun would it be to follow, no-one knows exactly where all of these kids will end up we can only make assumptions that are often based off of assumptions to begin with...either way it's a good thing for us that nyc is willing to make such a strong statement about luc.

I agree that the Charlie Strong thing won't have time to unravel because Luc is an EE. Even if UT and FSU tell Luc that Strong will be gone, you gotta think Strong would tell him that he's not going anywhere- as most coaches do- which would be more resounding to Luc. FSU's game against BYU definitely didn't hurt their chances either. We need some new quotes from this kid.

Coaches say whatever they have to say to get the kids to come there. Hopefully Kiffin is saying the right things though.

Damnit all! Why do I have to come back to hear a rumor. Why couldn't this be like last week when I came back and new players committed. Titans and Vols combine for 0-4 in the last two weeks. I am about ready to go outside and punch the next person I see. Angry!!!!!!!!!!! Haha :p. Seriously though... I am pretty pissed. I thought for sure the Titans would make up the past 3 losses today but nope. Luc's turn to make it up.

The thing is that Luc knows the florida staff. He's been to the camps, grown up knowing florida football and taken an offical visit there. Luc has had no interaction with our staff besides letters and phone calls. Get him to meet Lance Thompson, get him to see the vol walk, get him inside Neyland Stadium, Let him see O pumping up the the team right before they run through the T, Let him meet Monte and see the how his gameplan has auburn throwing a fit, and most importantly let him see how this defense brings the wood on every down. The Orange Swarm. Once he sees Tennessee football in Knoxville on a saturday, he will be all Vol.

I don't think that's correct unless I missed something. Luc talked to Monte Kiffin after the Floirida games and other recruits had to pull him away.

Dude, chill out. NYC is one of, if not the best sources of info out there on UT. If he says something, you should listen. I don't know who he talked to on the phone, but he does have many connections to the UT program, one of them being Ed Orgeron...

And FWIW, up until today NYC never believed we had a real chance with Luc. Something has changed his mind...

He has met the staff and been to Knoxville. He came up for one of the UT camps in June. That is where we first made some headway with him and secured an official visit to the Auburn game with him...

I don't know where everyone is getting that NYC talked to Luc. I highly doubt that. NYC never said who he spoke to. He's not going to reveal his sources and he's not going to tell everything that was said in the conversation either...

I talked to a kid in FLA that i have known forever this morning who is friends with Jeff from coral gables camp etc. Not best friends, but they talk. All he said was " Jeff is really feeling TN, but likes FLA more". So i just told the board that i thought Luc to tennessee was possible if strong left.

Didn't know that. Still, a gameday in Knoxville is something special. I like our chances once we get him up here for the Auburn game.
