"It was a good trip," Smith said about his weekend official visit to Rocky Top. "The game atmosphere was unbelievable. They are up there. I would say I'm leaning towards Tennessee."

"100,000 people at the game was amazing," Smith said. "A lot of fans knew who we (Smith and Corey Lemonier) were. That lets me know how important we are for them and that they take their football very serious. That was sick. It was pretty amazing."

Per Rivals... He says he is going to make a decision sometime in December...

Quick question how big is this kids frame. He is listed 265 does he have a frame to put on more weight?

From what I heard we started recruited him as on OL but he wasn't too interested. He wants to play on the DL. I think this staff has said he would have first shot at DL but if that doesn't work out they will move him to OL. Most schools are recruiting him as a OL so he is favoring UT now. I heard this kid was all Vol 3 weeks ago as long as the staff accepts his committment.

Care to comment on the question below?

Do we truly want them both? Sounded even more like a package deal based on the wording of his summary from the game.

Just seems to me that I am hearing we are in on so many kids that do we really have room for a package deal if others on the board are higher?

It appears we have very few spots left (barring casualties) and alot of kids still looking at us.

Some were suggesting that he flip over to the O-line. Is that a real option?

yes, that is a definite possibility. alot of people like his potential much better on the OL than the DL...

I think we really do want them both. We are going to have 3-6 casualties imo so spots will be available especially at DT...

who do we even have at DT on the depth chart? it's pretty bare
Montori Hughes and....

Marlon Walls looks to step in as the starter in the Wes Brown role. He's been getting alot of snaps the past few weeks. But outside of those 2, we are hurting. That is why it is imperative we get some immediate help from the JUCOs like Brown, Harris, Mahoney, etc...

Harris and brown have both been talked about not qualifing in several threads. So imo we still need to be looking for at least two more DT. We do need imediate depth and in other threads I've used the term prototypical DT. Willis and Copeland are current commits but neither appears to be DT 2deep ready(for SEC). I'm not saying we need a guy to start but we do need someone that can come in and be ready to take some snaps each game. imo V.Thomas and Nelson are also coming back at DT next year but haven't shown me anything yet.

Scout.com confirms Smith's commitment. That's exciting news in these times of nothing but bad news.

Wait, UT got a South Florida player to commit without Eddie Gran? I thought that was impossible!

SWEET! Welcome to the big orange Calvin. We are very excited to have you here with, or without Corey (hopefully with).

Gran was here long enough to introduce CLK and CEO to a few people in florida, and you know that Monte is a legend down there. Perhaps he was here just long enough to open a few pipelines. We shouldn't forget that several of our staff members are very respected as recruiters. Gran was good, but Kiffin and CEO are relentless...
