If he is a SR and is asking to play elsewhere, did he already graduate? If so, I doubt they could restrict where he goes.

Hes been there 3 years and doesnt look like he redshirted. So he would have 2 years of eligibility left, but could only play 1. Since hes only been there 3 years, chances are he hasnt graduated yet, but idk

Yeah, I had no clue if he had or not. Just made me think if he is willing to leave to play CB, he would need to play right away wherever he goes. Already having graduated makes that a lot easier I think.

The Florida 2014 spring roster listed him as a RS-Senior this year. If that is correct than he should be close to graduating and thus waiving any restrictions.

Strange considering he was class of 2010. Theres only been 3 seasons since then.

I thought he started every year but may have just been since he was a sophomore.

This is from memory, but I think he was playing and maybe starting early on. That was before Muschamp came in demanding larger, more physical CBs. You remember you were calling our CBs "smurfs" and laughing at what your big WRs would do. Roberson and Purifoy took starting positions and Cody moved to safety and started there last season.

Incidentally, Riggs has been a fine representative of UF and expects to graduate in May and use the Graduate Transfer Exception Rule. I didn't know what HG pointed out--that the SEC doesn't permit one year eligibility transfers. A lot of us are disappointed feeling his departure will leave a talented, but inexperienced secondary. SI did a nice story in which Cody emphatically denied transferring to play CB, saying he was transferring to get a MBA. I believe that his undergraduate degree is in Youth and Family (or some such) and he might have trouble with that degree getting into yours (or ours) MBA program. IMO he is a better CB than safety.

No I didn't call your WRs smurfs if you were referring to me individually. I prefer generally smaller/quicker CBs (by small I mean like 5'10") unless you can find one of the rare tall ones who have the hips and quickness needed to stick with their guy in man. I would take Riggs in a heartbeat I think he would start at corner for us.

No, no not you in particular. I didn't mean "you", I meant posters on this board. I believe that it was the first year cwm coached. He had come in and changed our DB's play immediately both by starting bigger CBs and coaching them to hit the WRs immediately. A lot of posters on this board didn't believe me back then and kept making fun of our smurf dbs. After the game the same posters complained (probably correctly that UF was holding). I tend to hang on to things too long. I knew UF had gone to bigger dbs and a more physical style of play and was annoyed then, and still am now to some extent, that accurate knowledge from a rival fan about his own team was ignored and sneered at. But I certainly didn't mean you in particular. My apologies for not being clear on that.

He's headed to Notre Dame. He wants to play CB.

fwiw - Notre Dame's MBA program is much more highly ranked than Florida's
