“I like Notre Dame because I’ve already been there and everything,” he said. “But I don’t really have a top five. I won’t narrow it down until the summer.”

Besides the Irish, Riggs says that Tennessee is recruiting him the hardest. “They send me like two or three handwritten letters a day,” he said. “They keep in touch a lot.”

“I like their defensive coordinator (Monte Kiffin). He’s one of the best in history and has coached in the NFL and won championships,” he said. “But I haven’t really had the chance to go back there and meet the coaches or anything.”

Per Scout... He said he hasn't been to UT since he visited his brother Gerald in 2004. Ohio St. is not recruiting him very much these days either...

2 or 3 handwritten letters from the Vol staff per day? Gah dang that's nuts...

I really want Riggs, I believe he is going to be a great corner in college, and actually live up to some of the hype.

I seriously think the best system for him to pla in would be Wake Forest. But I do want him as a Vol. His skills would look great in the Alphonso Smith role though.

Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas cornerback Cody Riggs reportedly wants to commit to Notre Dame, but longtime Aquinas coach George Smith isn't big on his players making such early decisions and wants his players to see numerous schools before deciding.

“Florida just offered me,” Riggs said when asked about his recruitment. “I just got off the phone with them and they said they were sending me an offer. I’ve been waiting for that one for a while."

“I don’t have a leader anymore,” Riggs explained. “I’ve gotten a lot of interest from other schools and so I’m going to look at a lot of other schools. I think a lot of schools were holding off because they thought that I was a lock for Notre Dame, so everything is even right now.”

Yeah - but it didn't seem to be all even until the Florida offer - plus the home state school and he said he'd been waiting on it for awhile. He was opening up his recruitment a few weeks back - but still said ND was clearly ahead.

I have no idea honestly - just need him to visit since he hasn't been here since we got the new staff.

I thought we had a good chance at landing this kid when i found out it was gerald riggs little brother. The way it looks now im not sure. I dont think he will go to florida cause he really is going to have to compete to see the field down there and there would be no chance of seeing the field next year. I would love to have this kid but, if not we will find someone.

From an article today:
“I am visiting Tennessee next week and I will start thinking about my decision more after out team camp at Rutgers later this summer.”

"My top two schools are Georgia and Florida. I don't have a favorite right now, but those two really standout for me. With Florida, I like the business-like approach that Coach Meyer brings and with Georgia, I came away very impressed with the family atmosphere,"

Riggs will be arriving in Knoxville on Wednesday. Joyner cannot come cuz he has summer school. I think Keion Payne is still coming with Riggs...
