What if we landed Baty and Bray? It sounds like Baty is a offer away from committing.

I'd rather leave Baty out of that equation completely, he isn't an SEC caliber QB, that's pretty apparent.

If we can get 2 QBs at this point, I'd take Bray and Cam Newton. I think those are our two best options at this point. 2011 should be more kind.

Me thinks Baty will prove you wrong.

He sucks so bad that he's going to be the starter on the No.1 ranked HS program in the country? Yeah, right....

I expect with that much talent around him, he'll be lighting it up this time next month, and will probably get an offer at some point in the season

Do you guys realize Baty isn't even the starter at STA at this point based on most accounts?

I do not know much about Baty but I would love to have Cameron Newton on this team

Everyone but him has said the opposite pretty much. Two of the top guys who cover HS football in South Florida have said he's the backup.

Well, from all accounts so far he might be 2nd string and an injury away from the starting position on the number 1 HS team in the country.

I don't know why the kid would make it up. That is the most recent news and it came directly from the horses mouth. Maybe you're right but I'm guessing he knows more about what the team is going to do than a couple of guys who write about high school sports. I would think he would say he is competing for the starting spot if that was the case. I have a feeling he is going to start after moving all the way across the country. This is his last year of football. He is already rated a 3* so it wouldn't make sense for him to waste his last year of eligibility to show case himself. He probably would have gone to another school if that was the case.

Minus Baty's very own words. I've read all of the stuff you guys are reading but I will go with the most recent news. Especially when he actually plays for the team.

Bray, a San Diego State commitment, will visit Tennessee on the weekend of Sept. 11 and is getting the full-court press from Lane Kiffin and his staff. If Tennessee can land Bray, they will have the quarterback they desperately need in this class and a prospect who is a perfect fit for Kiffin's offense.

So let me get this straight, the QB of the most talented high school team (possibly) in the country should get an SEC offer because he throws 20 screens per game and his receivers run 80 YAC for TD's???

I'd rather take a guy who isn't on the greatest team, but shows out at all the camps (Tyler Bray).

I could care less how great the guy's team is, we aren't recruiting his whole team...... well.... actually we kind of are haha. That'd be the only reason I see him getting an offer from us; just to help out the pipeline.:cray:

I will take any combo of these 3 QBs for 2010:

Bray, Newton, or Brunetti.... in that order preferably. This is a down year for QBs and the rest are committed.

From what Jerod Askew says, we still aren't completely out of it for Phillip Sims either... hmm...

I'd prefer to get a QB that will enroll early, but I won't complain if we get Bray. I've heard Bray might wait until NSD to make a decision so I don't think he's an early enroller.

I don't think Bray waits till NSD to change his mind. He was late on the camps and has picked it up as of late. I think we can get him during the season. He's waiting to see who comes after him hard to pick the best school. His commitment was knee jerk and won't hold up. He'll be a Vol once he sees the game day atmosphere and we do better than last year.

“San Diego State and Tennessee are the only two schools I’m focusing on right now,” Bray explained. “I will make the trip to Tennessee for their season opener, I can’t wait, and I’m very excited about the trip.”

His family will be coming with him on his trip.

Says he calls the staff atleast once a week.
