I dunno man Carson Palmer would have been all world if he hand have gotten hurt, he definitely wasnt overrated.

And Matt Linehart is playing under Kurt Warner, a future HOFer, he definitely isnt overrated either.

And Sanchez is gonna take the Jets where Brett Favre couldnt, he's their Savior. Hes not overrated.

And dont get me started on Cassell, he almost took the Pats to the playoffs, with little to no talent around him.

Who said any of these guys are overrated? What I said is that, collectively, they are not Peyton Manning when it comes to giving advice to QBs. Maybe an understudy of guys who make more appropriate comparisons.

The Pats had no talent? Pleasseee... go ahead and elaborate.

The last video definitely gives insight towards USC, the whole purpose of playing college football is to try to reach the next level, and his comments favored USC in that regard

well, IF Scroggins is headed to USC, then we will have to work on someone else. Chalk up another L and keep on moving

Palmer=Legit

Leinart has proven to be a scrub. He was starting over Warner for a point. He lost out because he sucked, even throwing to Q and Fitz.

You can't say anything about Sanchez yet. Dude is nowhere close to Favre.

And Cassell....no talent around him? Dude, lay off the pills. The Pats have arguably the most talent in the league on offense.

At the time, Kurt Warner HAD been struggling mightily in the league. Having 2 Pro Bowl WR's and an improved OL helped him revive a career that was about ready for retirement.
Matt Leinert stunk it up in training camp and the preseason, so the team HAD to go to a nearly washed up veteran guy, to take care of business. I don't know how you can say Leinart is not overrated. He most certainly is...just like Vince Young, until they prove otherwise.

And Sanchez is gonna take the Jets where Brett Favre couldnt, he's their Savior. Hes not overrated.
And you KNOW this because...? How many 1st Rd busts have their been? Heath Shuler left a year early and was projected to be the Redskin's savior as well. He hasn't even taken a snap in training camp. No way you can forecast what he's going to do, unless you're working your crystal ball for all it's worth.

And dont get me started on Cassell, he almost took the Pats to the playoffs, with little to no talent around him.
This is a joke, right? Hey guys, did you realize that the Patriots actually have...no talent? LOST said it so it must be true, right? :eek:lol:

I just have a hard time believing that any of us can still objectively (i.e., without our orange glasses on) believe he is coming to UT. Everyone but us thinks he is USC bound (other fan bases, national media, even local media). I would be absolutely amazed if a kid his age could be tricking everyone without some word leaking out indicating his true intentions.

Think about it, we've heard rumors indicating UT for every recruiting surprise we've had with the new staff. So why would we not have any info here? We've got nothing more than speculation based on strained interpretations of various interviews over the past few months. Not saying we should give up hope, but I think it is time to be realistic and not sweat his decision.

I know he said Fl is Fl but the way I took it is that he had that standard thing he was going to say about all of them. Not he's leaning any way. Honestly, the interviewed him after the camp one of the days. He said he was really tired. I know if I do as much as he did I would be tired too. I think he didn't plan out this interview at all but I may very well be wrong. I think he just answered the questions with a standard thing to say about each one that in his mind he wouldn't give any info away. That being said I'm not wearing orange glasses but that is just what I took from it first time I watched it. I really think he's going to USC even though my gut says UT for some reason. I really don't think he's going to consider FL as much as you guys are looking into one interview. Again all this said, if I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it. Just my feeling on the situation.

Another good point... all of Kiffin's signals have been that he's not coming. Nothing even remotely close to the positive signals he gave before Nuke, BB, and others.

Yep, USC, Good Luck kid, we are moving foward with or without, but remember if Scroggins goes to USC then the terrorist win.

hes a trojan. call it sour grapes, but im not wishing him any luck. what happens happens. hes not a vol, so as far as im concerned, he doesnt matter to me, nor any other prospect NOT sporting the orange power T. if he beats out the USC depth chart, congratulations. if he doesnt, which is more than likely, i hope he thoroughly enjoys riding the pine just to satisfy his father.

as a true vol/commit put it, "if you aint a vol, your nuthin'..." i agree 100%

I have a question. Probably just my UT inside wanting to find a way to make me think he's going to UT. When did he say he was decided with his choice. A couple days ago, a week ago....?

im pretty sure he said he made it a week ago. not 100% sure though. im sure someone else will clarify sooner or later

Well how long ago was it that our coaches said they were confident ( I know it was "sources" on here that said our coaches said that) with him. It might have been further back but again my orange glasses want to see it was near a similar time.

In watching that video, I tend to agree.. The big three letters that stuck out were NFL

I still think our advantage is current NFL QB's in the league and Coach Bates/Carroll.

but remember we are dealing with 17 year old kids and who knows what they are thinking
Seriously, dude...you Trojan homers are making me want to :puke5: ...with all of the NFL QB nonsense. Name one that is tearing up the league right now....if you guys QB's are so dominating?

You have more question marks than answers. I don't know of any single NCAA team that has the market cornered for NFL QB's.
We have Peyton Manning, better than any Trojan, at any time, who is a VERY valuable asset to any UT QB, as he tries to help them in any way possible...and visits the campus frequently. Tee Martin was drafted and was with the Steelers for a few years. Eric Ainge is on the same team with Sanchez, and the jury is still out for both of them. Cassell has been a backup in college and in the NFL. He has to play for an injured Brady, and low and behold he plays fairly well with the best talent in the league around him. Jon Kitna could look good playing for the Patriots. What does that really say?

Bottom line is...you trojans toot your horn loudly about your NFL QB situation, when in fact, it's not as shiny as you want people to believe. It's very marred and tarnished. The truth is, QB's coming out of USC are largely overrated, simply because they came out of a successful program. Just as Tee Martin came from a NC team, that doesn't = NFL success. Casey Clausen lead a very successful campaign here at UT (an upset loss to LSU in the SECC game in 2001 cost a trip to the Rose Bowl NC game)....it didn't translate to the NFL.

Nevertheless, you Trojan homers sell it that way, and that's the same nonsense being sold to a poor kid, you KNOW will not see the field for 3 or more years at best...and that's after RS'ing a year.
