BTW, completely agree about Meyer's motives... but I also wonder if CLK/Scroggins might be stringing UF along too a la Nuke and Teague. It would not surprise me if their involvement was just a ruse to take another shot at Meyer.

Why is it "he'll ride the pine at SC" or "he'll get burried at FL".., but you still want him here?? I pretty much thought that's what we have allready.

Do you want a guy at UT that will ride the pine at SC or get burried at FL?? I want the guy that would be able to start at at both places..

Good grief, this place cracks me up sometimes... What a difference mere hours/days can make...

You want him here because he is a highly ranked QB and will help bring in good skill players around him. He's going to be recruited over next year anyway. But we need a high profile QB this year to draw other talent.

True.. But this whole 'being recruited over next year' business is kind of misleading. Every player would be recruited over every year if a staff could do it. I mean no offense to any kids out there. That's just the way it is. All that being said, I think Jessee, if he's got the head for it, will be just fine... (especially when he gets here)..

There is no one in this class who would start over Brantley or Corp/Barkely at any point in their career.

But, he could start over Stephens/Lamaison/Rozier no problem.

I understand what your saying, but nothing is written in stone... JS is good he's not just a recruiting tool. That's one of the points I was making.

I never lost faith.. I will say, originally I had thought that a long delay would not be to our benefit. I admit I was wrong. I believe Jessee has really gone over this one hard.... sharp kid

I was of the mindset he was just a recruiting tool until I heard a USC sports writer on one of the radio programs here in knoxville. He basically said that USC doesn't "need" a QB for this class, and they decided to only pursue the one who performed well in their camp, and that happened to be Scroggins... This may have been public knowledge for a while and I just missed it, either way that's pretty impressive to me.

So is there anything new to know... Last I heard, JS was not coming to Ktown this weekend. Bur now I hear that his choice will be made Monday? I'm still thinking he's a Vol, but I would've likes Bailey coming with him.

I haven't heard anything about Monday...still expecting him to announce on the 25th....(unless he decides to visit UF and UT once more).

I still think he will announce on the 25th, but I seem to remember someone posting earlier in this thread that he told his coaches he will decide by Monday and just wait until the 25th to make it public.

The bad news is that if he is still announcing on the 25th, he won't have time to take another visit to either UT or UF.

The 25th is his own deadline. If a visit was what he wanted to make his decision, he could delay the annoucement. Assuming he's not in Knoxville, of course.

Of course he could always postpone the announcement, but I haven't seen anything to suggest he will do that at this point.

IIRC, Scroggins said the 25th or later in one of his latest quotes. And referenced wanting to visit again. So this may get pushed back so he can visit. I would think he would wait then until an official can be made if I was him. And then we all could be going crazy for awhile.
