Isn't X pretty reliable?I would think if it was him that has said this it might actually have some legs to it.

unless he wants to get buried in the depth charts at usc he should sign with ut or florida


I hear that Urban thinks that he would make a great scout team QB at Florida.

The only reason that Florida is recruiting him is to keep him away from Kiffin. Meyer does not want to see UT pulling in talent that would help them with recruits in the state of Florida. If it were UF vs. USC then Meyer would have dropped him a long time ago.

I think UM is to arrogant for that. That worked in the old days, before scholly restrictions. Not sure it applies today, you can't waste em, just to keep a kid from going to a rival.

Everyday he can keep this kid from committing to UT is a plus for him. And if he gets the kid to go to SC and sit on the bench instead of competing at UT then he wins. I do think that Meyer would take him and put him on the scout team to keep him from UT especially with the talent they have in Gainesville. This kid would make a good back up for his option, if there were injuries, since Scroggins can run the football.

But he has two higher quarterbacks in the pipeline now.

If Scroggins is good enough to start at UT then he's good enough to start at USC... He'd probably just do it 1-3 years sooner at UT.

BTW, completely agree about Meyer's motives... but I also wonder if CLK/Scroggins might be stringing UF along too a la Nuke and Teague. It would not surprise me if their involvement was just a ruse to take another shot at Meyer.

I couldn't agree more about the allure of our wide open depth chart compared to UCS/UF, but after reading 100s of posts about how much more we would appreciate him because we have no one else, well, it just made me picture some nerdy kid crying before the prom because he would absolutely cherish a date with the head cheerleader, yet she still is only interested in the QB, to whom she is just another notch on the belt.

Well, I'm rootin for that nerdy kid!

Also,It could be that he really wants to come to Tennessee,but he doesn't want to let his family down.In that case he may be trying to make his family realize that Tennessee is the best place for him,and bringing them with him on another visit could do just that.
