Jesse said himself he is not committing today. He said maybe next week. He didnt say exactly on the 25th... but maybe in a week... Calm down guys... He is NOT committing today,

does anyone think even if he commits to USC or Fla. that our coaches can change his mind before actual signing day in Feb.?...no matter how our season goes this fall?..

If he was a USC lock he would have committed already. USC wouldn't need the publicity on the 25th, he would just commit today. My guess is he is still thinking it over and he's not a lock for anything.

I think it depends on how USC season goes this fall. If it becomes obvious to him that he will not start for awhile at USC he may change his mind.

Is he still scheduled to come to the Auburn game?

I definitely think so! If we show improvement in the offense, & a winning record, it will sway not just JS, but also other recruits on the fence, in UT's direction. Plus a good season, would be a great selling point, to convince JS to come aboard. I think by signing day, JS & even his dad are going to see that the opportunity is too much to pass up. Its hard to argue against the SEC, all we have to is win & show improvement.

Not to mention if Barkely or Corp excels at QB for USC. This would all but guarantee that JS would be sitting the bench for at least 2 or 3 years.

No, They aren't....In fact they are a distant 3rd...Pretty much eliminated...It's between UT and USC for his services.

i wouldnt say eliminated, but i would agree they are a distant 3rd. but i doubt thatll stop our buddy CUM from negative recruiting. its in UFs best interest for JS not to go to UT. i think its shown, however slight, his influence when JS referenced the secondary violations a couple weeks ago.

If he would had commited early yes, but he has had time to think about it and make the decision for him. I really doubt he decommits from the school he chooses. The only way i see him doing it tho is if he goes to USC and sees that Barkley is a god and has second thoughts. But I doubt he will tho.

Strong possibility

Jmo, maybe I'm just too optimistic & need to take off the orange tinted glasses though.

i do like that he is not announcing until next week (tho i really want to know). i think it either bodes well for us, or he doesn't want DB to steal his usc thunder tonight. but i still don't know what advantage there would be to hold off on committing to usc if in fact that is what he wants to do.

Despite internet rumors to the contrary, Tennessee quarterback prospect Jesse Scroggins will not announce his decision this evening.

"No, it's not going to (happen today)," Scroggins' high school coach, Thad MacNeal, told the News Sentinel on Thursday afternoon.

MacNeal said that 6-foot-3, 200-pound Scroggins will announce his decision on July 25 from the Elite 11 quarterback camp as previously planned.

MacNeal said Scroggins is still deciding among UT, Southern California and Florida.

An earlier announcement could have spelled trouble for the Vols considering many believe the Trojans have made a strong push recently for the highly rated quarterback from Lakewood (Calif) High School. Had Scroggins' announcement been made today, it could have been paired with that of Scroggins' teammate, receiver Dion Bailey.

Bailey has shown limited interest in UT. Many believe he'll end up committing to Southern Cal. Bailey and Scroggins committing together would have the makings of a USC press conference.

Scroggins sticking by July 25 announce date, coach says GoVolsXtra

So....... July 25th it is. Go Vols :)

guys i hate to be a downer.... but we signed Lamaison, are going back after Brunetti, and are looking at several other qb's i dont think the coaches are confident with Scroggins
