I don't know, but if the 3rd string QB does get to hold, that means JS will only be 3 injured QB's from being the holder. That's big time.

so what's new with scroggins ohio? i've been away for a good 24 hrs.

is DB still committing tomorrow and is it still assummed that Scroggins will announce the same day? or has anything new risen to the table?

I know you can't police incidental meetings, but I'm pretty sure it's a violation to have former athletes woo recruits. I remember something about recruits at USC being taken to some restaurant owned by a former player who was waving his ring(s) in front of them and telling them they needed to be Trojans. I don't know if the NCAA slapped their wrists, but the article said it could be a violation.

Multiple sources out West are pointing toward an decision for Lakewood, Calif., teammates Dion Bailey and Jesse Scroggins will announce their decision this week at the NIKE 7-on-7 passing tournament in Beaverton, Ore.

Most close to the situation believe USC is the team to beat for both, especially Bailey, who has been leaning toward the Trojans for a while now. Scroggins has continued to play things close to the vest with Florida and Tennessee the other finalists.

I think its only a violation if a coach tells them to meet or does it for them blah blah blah

But if a player goes on his own to contact said recruit, I don't think it is. I'm not even close to sure though

I hate to miss out on this kid, but it is what it is. I know he's a quality QB, but Stephens will be the starter next year, no matter who sign (or don't). I do think that Scroggins was a placeholder, just enough of name to woo other recruits. IMO, it hurts us more that we won't be able to sell Scroggins as a Vol. In all honesty, we were probably going to recruit over him in '11. Still....this sucks.

Guys I'll be leaving to go to ooltewah for a throwing session with Jacques and I should be home around 8 or so. I will talk to him and see what he thinks is up and I'll relay what he tells me to yall

Haha I will. And im being serious he would make an amazing college tight end as well. He plays it for us and he can catch ANYTHING. His hands are Huge

I just dont get why a kid wants to go somewhere and sit for 3 years or more. Barkley will be the man there for a while and Scroggins is no where near him in talent. Its these coaches and parents who want to thump their chests and say, "I got a kid into USC". WOW! Let the kid make up his own mind! And furthermore, why does a player like KJ have to Wooo a kid to go to USC? So if the kid chooses USC because he got to meet one of the most selfish WR's the game has ever seen and he sits for 2-4 years what will the kid think of him then. Personally, I think people should let the kids make their own choices.

It's probably 50/50 that he never starts at SC.

If Barkley starts at USC this year, Scroggins won't play until his senior year...he'd probably start as a freshman at least half of the season here.
