I don't know why people automatically are saying JS is gone....Only a few days ago Rettig said UT lead for his services, now he up and commits to BC. This shows that these kids can change their minds like that. Now that Scroggins is our sole and only offer left uncommitted, our staff will be on him like white on rice until the 25th to try and sway him our way!!! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

Lets be honest. With our program being in the state it currently is, for us to be battling it out with USC and UF for a kid is really a feat unto itself. Especially when you consider we have a new staff that hasnt coached a game together, a 5-7 record last year, USC is the kids childhood favorite and UF is defending and likely repeating NC. Forget all the orange kool-aid and homerism for a moment. To still even be considered at this point is quite an accomplishment IMO.

If Jesse is reading this board he will know we really want him here and he will also know that total meltdown ensues when we miss a recruit.

our staff didn't want the kid as much as we are lead to believe. he blows up in one camp and everyone thinks he has a golden arm.

did anyone stop and think that this kid had the article written solely about him just to get his name out there? he was one of the only quarterbacks at the camp in maui who didn't have any offers and wasn't already committed.

it's a shame we didn't get the kid, but we have bigger plans.

I agree 100%. I'm not saying anything about JS. Landing him would have been tough. It's hard to beat out the top 2 programs in the country for a player. Rettig is what's bothering me...

A poster on the Tennessee board on ESPN.com said he speaks with the coaches regularly and they are 99% sure Scroggins is going to USC. I know this isn't a reliable source given it's just a message board poster, but he did say a week before Palardy committed that he would be a Vol.

The dominoes shall fall if JS commits. Scroggins... Milton... Ambles... Stone.

I can dream can't I? I do believe it's a real possibility if Tennessee lands Scroggins.

LV you always give good info, but you must have not followed recruiting for very long...things change daily and its a long strang trip till Feb. I have been an avid follower the last 8 years or so...I have learned not to get to upset over one player!

I've been saying this all along. I don't why this has made me so mad haha. I guess I always thought he was raw but had a huge upside and was always a lock to UT if we wanted him, idk...

I knew Chase was not going to be Vol. I was saying it last night. We waited too long and d*cked him over on showing him he is not someone we are concerned about....

Hopefully that's not the case. He very well may but I am not going to lose my cool until it happens.:shades:

I have a feeling Scroggins is back and forth on the decision right now. Maybe he gave indication he was going to USC but an hour later he changed his mind to UT. So on and so forth. Some of the players do that. Most people thought Oregon was the leader the day before Bryce announced. Recently they had produced some of the better running backs and they have the Nike deal. Brown was apparently really into the Nike deal. Then he ended up a Vol.:rock:

The big orange nation will love and embrace JS. USC fans could take him or leave him. They have Barkley... what do they care? Lol.

Yeah, but they aren't nearly as desperate for a QB as we are.
