I understand the impact that a QB brings to recruiting, but I can't believe we wont be able to win with whoever the staff brings in. We got some great skill players right now. Brown, Oku, and Williams are going to be great players. We just need a guy who can be smart with the football and make a play every now and then. OSU and LSU proved that with a good game manager, strong running game, and great defense you can win a national championship. Like they did with Krenzel, Mauk, and Flynn. I trust the staff. Its not the end of the world if we miss out on Scroggins.

I need some clarification here. Was it confermed that Baily AND Scroggins were going to commit at the next camp, or was it just Baily and we assumed that Scroggins was going to commit with him? I don't remember.

Didn't want this bad news when I got home but.... happens I guess, hope Scroggins is a Vol 'cause I don't know where we would go if he's not

Is this really necessary? I mean, having a vision while meditating may be a little out there for your taste, but it's really not much stranger or any more useless than some of the other crap in this thread. What's next, Sab should go hang at The Pub cause he told us to 'book it'? Sheesh, give crunchy a break...it's just his opinion after all. Now, if you wanna send Volman38 to the pub permanently, I'm good with that.

Why does it feel like losing a prospect (or in JS's case, very likely losing a prospect) is like losing an actual game? It's just gut-wrenching and there aren't any points on a scoreboard or anything.

Scroggins said the timing of the announcement is based on many factors.

“It’s not too late but it’s not too early,” Scroggins said of his decision to announce later this month. “It’s the perfect time for me.”

Scroggins said he also decided on July 25, in part, because of the television coverage that ESPN will provide. He hopes his commitment will help boost recruiting for whichever school he chooses.

Scroggins reaffirmed that he has no qualms about coming across the country to play football, whether it’s for UT or Florida.

Another factor: much of his family lives in the Memphis area.

“There are so many things to say about Tennessee, especially that it is my mom’s home state,” Scroggins said. “That’s what really helps.”
