If he does decide to be a Vol, part of me will always be a little bitter that he didn't do it sooner to help land other offensive prospects.

And here is the about me:

I DONT FOLLOW THE CROWD...

SO LITTLE OPPORTUNITYS...

I DONT WANT TO BE LEFT BEHIND

-J SCROGGS

Anyone care to analyze this?

If I did not want to follow a crowd (or trend), have less opportunities, or run the risk of being left out (or behind), then I would not be headed to the schools with the loaded depth charts.

But, like another poster mentioned, a 17 year old kid wrote this so his mind could have changed 100 times since then.

Jesse mentioned it being hot & humid at UF. August practices in Gainesville are miserable.

As are the games played there. I've never been, but I've heard plenty of fans who have mention how miserable it really is early in the season.

One thing I hope Jesse really thinks hard about...instead of believing all the fluff CPC likely tried to fill his head with...is the simple fact that Barkley was offered and committed MUCH, MUCH earlier than Jesse was. Combine that with the fact that he was REQUIRED to not only attend camp to be evaluated...BUT HE HAD TO WIN IT, INJURY AND ALL, just to get a stinking offer. Yeah...that's really rolling out the red carpet, there, Jesse. If you believe that, I have a bridge over the Atlantic to sell you.

If Jesse has enough sense to read through that smoke screen BS job of Coach Carroll's (who I do have a lot of respect for...just not in this particular instance), then he is a Vol.

It'd be kind of lame if he picked somewhere else because of climate.

Also, I might add that Gainesville's and Knoxville's climate are not all that different. Both are even classified as Cfa climates in the Koppen Climate System.

Southern California, what he's used to, is much drier and a little more mild. It's a Csa or Csb.

Jesse could have sat there sucking his thumb the entire camp and still would have gotten an offer...

Then CPC told the QB's a juicy-fat lie...so which one is it?
The mere fact that Barkley was in the fold months before camps began last year, tells you what USC thinks of Jesse and their level of need for a real play'a at QB this year.

You mean you didnt know that Jesse was offered by USC when he was in the 6th grade? :whistling:

By reason of deduction, then that would mean Barkley was offered in 5th grade, right?

If you're referring to E.Berry's little brother saying he was planning on being a Vol...heck, why not see that as a positive for the program? When the time comes, if he INDEED has the goods, we'll take him. :)

My advice to you idiots is to stop dreaming for the impossible to happen. Ok?!

I have been hoping that Tennessee was not the joke that they have become. However, I do understand that magic does noe happen every day.

Can you give me 3 realistic reasons why you are better then Virginia Tech?

I wonder....

Can you give me 3 realistic reasons why you are better then Virginia Tech?

That's too easy.

1. All time record

VT: 658–425–46
UT: 773–327–53

2. BCS Championships

VT: 0
UT: 1

3. Conference titles

VT: 7
UT: 16

4. Postseason bowl record

VT: 8–14
UT: 25–22–0

5. You named your stadium after our coach.

Just admit that VT is a trash team. You can call us a has been program if you want, but it's hard for us to take it seriously coming from a never will team. You think we envy you because you guys won your conference last year. We don't. Why? You play football in a basketball conference.

I rarely ever root for Alabama. I will enjoy when they destroy your pathetic excuse for a football team inside the gates of hell commonly referred to as Atlanta, GA.

USC, UT or UF. I'd hate to be in his shoes right now. 2 choices all but guarantee a ring, the third wants desperately to get back in the mix at the conference level. He can be a hero at any one of those schools.

I think it would be much tougher to be a hero at UF following so close to Tebow and at USC your following Sanchez and now Barkley. That's a lot of big shoes to fill and expectations to live up to. The opportunity to make a lasting impact and carve out your own legacy is much better at UT.

Thanks for your two cents....move along now!

So even if I'm not able to beat him out, if I had to redshirt a year behind Matt, I would still be able to play by my sophomore year."
must be nice to be able to tell a kid that he might have a chance to play if he sits on the bench for 2 years. the fact that Scroggins even made that statement tells me that he has at least some degree of doubt that he can beat out Barkley. it just doesnt add up to me. i think UT or UF. the kid says that he is a leader, not a follower. if that is the truth, he better be realistic about which team is need of a leader, right now.

I'm just happy that we didn't fall into the morass like USC did pre-Carroll and that we aren't blatantly spending extravagantly on players' families in the climb back.

OBTW, the next time you call someone an idiot, you might consider dropping the word then from your comparative vocabulary, unless you enjoy proving yourself the idiot in only a couple of paragraphs.

Nicely done!
