'10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins (USC Solid Verbal)

Which school will Scroggins verbally commit to tomorrow?

My question is why would you want to go into a situation where you know you will only play when you are a redshirt sophomore?

Tennessee gives him the only opportunity to play as a freshman, if not start. At worst he would start as a true soph.

I think he is good, but it would hard to believe he would beat out Barkley after Barkley had already been there for a year..

Maybe he's not confident we will win and he's sure SC will... I hope he realizes he is a major piece in the puzzle and we will win if he comes here.. I couldn't blame him though if he wants to stay close to home.. Plus he would be star in his town.. I hope he realizes he will be a star in entire state here though

I would say he's feeling pretty confident after hearing coaches from UT, UF, & USC tell him he's the Man. Hopefully he can keep it all in perspective and make a good choice for himself and his future. USC's depth chart is much stronger than he is giving credit to. Gainesville is much more hot & humid than LA. He would be an instant hero at UT. Not to mention Kiffin's success with QB's. Go VOLS !

Thanks. I've been reading VolNation for several months and finally signed up. I am soooooo addicted to this site. I like the updates on recruiting and absolutely love the friendly banter that goes on here.

Yeah same for me, I really never started posting 'til lately but have always read. I don't think there's a better free site for recruiting on the web and the fact that you get to read from a Vol perspective makes it all the better for me.

Back on topic, what's your take on Scroggins?

I was in Daytona a couple of weeks ago and played golf in the mornings and you would have thought that I had been swimming after my rounds. It was extremely humid. I couldn't imagine living like that during the summers and early fall. :no:

My take on Scroggins......hmmmm....I know that we need a QB desperately. I believe that Kiff and Co. want him pretty badly, so I'd like to land him too. I believe that he could develop into a very good SEC QB. I'll be a little disappointed if he decides to go somewhere else. However, I strongly believe that this staff will find a QB that will fit their system. Is Scroggins the answer? I'm not sure. I think his senior year will be very interesting to watch. I know that I will keep a close eye on him if he decides to commit to us.

distance, family and friendships trump depth chart in 80-90% of the cases... from Rivals current top 100, 42 committed to this point and 32 are staying in home states. that is 76%

As mentioned above, he has updated his myspace page today. At the top he says he's thinking on his schools. And here is the about me:

Its a 17yr old kid....good luck analyzing ANYTHING going on in that head of his. I just hope he "leads" his butt here to UT!! Hopefully that "lookin for a way out" means out of the state of CA.
