But wasn't bailey talking about conversations he had with Jesse prior to the USC camp? For some reason, I thought that was the case (someone please correct me if I am wrong). I guess I would read more into it if the conversation happened after the camp.

Yeah, you might want to do your research before you start asking questions. Quit being so lazy!

lol...smart kid imo. Hes gotta be loving this attention and suspense that has been created on where he will play college ball.

sab needs to send him a better UT pic to put on his myspace..lol

From Scott Wolf (who is the guy with the best info on SC in the LA media):

Answer Tuesday! (Part 4) - Inside USC with Scott Wolf

Lache Seastrunk did not come to the Rising Star Camp. Does USC have a chance with quarterback Jesse Scroggins, and running back Lache Seastrunk?

A: From the beginning, USC's been an outside choice with Seastrunk although they are not totally out of the picture. He is the game-changer of this recruiting class and I know USC will recruit him hard. However, getting a guy out of Texas is going to be tough.
I think USC would have a better chance of getting Scroggins if Matt Barkley were not already on the team. Plus I think Scroggins might be better suited for Florida's offense. So I don't consider him likely to come to USC, but who knows, it could happen.

While i wouldn't put much credence into Wolf's opinion of scroggins talents, if SC a) wanted him really bad and/or b) if scroggins was an SC silent committ, my guess (from my prior experience with his posts about recruits) is wolf would say he was going to SC. In other words I've found him to be very accurate for future SC committs.

If he is coming to UT I hope he commits sooner rather than later. He could create a domino affect and the more players available the better.

He certainly is sending mixed signals. He was hurt going into the USC camp, and mysteriously he's good to go. Then, prior to the same camp he took a muted shot at USC for waiting so long to offer him and said he's almost done with this process, and he was going to decide by the following week. Now, it's over a month away at yet another camp?

Right now, BC is sole team that has offered Rettig...unlike UT and USC, there's no waiting for another QB to commit first. He could jump on it any time. If Scroggins strings us out til July 25 and chooses elsewhere, here we would be left with a bag of poo...:)

Scott Wolf...

Isn't he an actor from a big TV series in the 90's?

Scott Wolfe was in Party of Five (the older brother on the show was Matt Fox who is in Lost. Jennifer Love Hewitt was also in the show).

He's also been in a few movies. One of my faves is WHITE SQUALL.

Article from ESPN says Scroggins pushed his commitment timeframe up. And could announce as early as next week.

QB Bray garnering attention - ESPN

"Scroggins is quick to point out he doesn't have a leader among the three schools although he has moved up his timeline for making a decision from late July to possibly as early as next week. He might not say he has a leader, but several people close to him feel if he had to commit today, he would be a Trojan."

If true, this is a good thing IMO, regardless of whether or not we actually get Scroggins. This would mean that we'll either have Scroggins on board earlier, or we can go ahead and offer Rettig earlier (and likely get his commitment) if Scroggins goes to USC.

But a Scroggins commitment to UT would make a great present for my 21st birthday on Monday! :)

This is USC or Tennessee. Pete wants a decision and quick or else their going with Retting/Bray. Tennessee wants a quick decision to start the recruiting train. Florida doesn't fit in with pushing the date up.

I like that he is moving up his commitment date. Either way it goes at least we can move on. I hope chooses UT but if he doesn't we can move on to the next QB(s).

Hopefully it means that Coach Kiffin called him and told him he needs to come out with his commitment.

The way Jesse talks about how he could play as a sophomore even if he can't beat out Barkley is not good. He has put in a lot of thought about that depth chart situation. In my opinion, if he didn't want to go there he wouldn't do that. If he does want to go there he is trying to justify the decision.

My gut says he will be a Trojan. :(

I agree, but thankfully we're going to find out sooner now rather than later. I hope we get Rettig if not Scroggins.

Or maybe Pete Carroll told Sroggins that if he didn't beat out Barkley he could still play as a sophmore.
