Just heard that the phone call was to announce Jesse's intentions to bone Urban's daughter.

VOLS if he wants to play and be the man against the best competition there is, TROJANS if he wants to stay close to home and play in the rose bowl every year. (Who else in the PAC-10 is gonna go?!?!)
He might be at the Rose Bowl every year, but he wouldn't be playing every year.

For everyone who was creaming over the fact that the rock was on his myspace, he just posted his USC camp highlights from rivals. Does that mean he's going to USC?

Judging anything off of what kid has on his myspace just isn't really a good idea.

Is the picture of his rock still there as well?...if so, must mean we're still in the running.

Yes, the rock is still up there. He added the video from the USC camp and another pic in his HS uniform. No cause for panic. The video is really more of a rivals video discussing his ranking in the top 100, etc. Nothing pro-USC about it, the footage just happened to be from that particular camp.

The rock is a huge tool for us fans. It is something original to us. That i remember, no school has anything like it.

Just watched Jesse's highlight vids on Rivals. Wow!

So much speculation right now on where he will end up. GVX has an article on Kiffin's QB quandary. He just reiterates what we have all been saying and that once we get a QB then all of the offensive chips will fall into place.

Quote:
While quarterbacks are committing elsewhere, UT is still on the prowl.

"That's a knock that the receivers, the tight ends and the running backs (mention)," Kiffin said. "That's one of the few things they come up with as a negative for us.

"They're so excited about everything but they say 'Coach, who's going to throw us the ball?' It will be real critical to get a quarterback or two to help us to even go to a higher level of recruiting than what we are doing now."

End

Interestingly too Kiffin mentions that we might not be getting the highest ranked O linemen, just the athletic guys that will fit or scheme to a tee.

Quote:
Securing offensive linemen is "very high" on UT's list of recruiting priorities, Kiffin said. However, don't expect UT to be chock full of four- and five-star blockers come National Signing Day 2010.

"They may not be the highest ranked players but they'll be players that fit our system - what we want," Kiffin said. "We want athletic guys. We want tough guys.

"I think what you may see is we may end up signing some guys that aren't household names in recruiting but will be great players in our system."

End

It all starts with Scroggins. Our recruiting season really depends on him for O.

Also watched Rettigs film. Not that I know a darn thing on how to eval talent, but it is apparent to me that Scroggins looks more comfortable and is way smoother.

Really like this quote in that GVX article....

Talking about O-Lineman...
"I think what you may see is we may end up signing some guys that aren't household names in recruiting but will be great players in our system."

Even Kiffin knows that stars are for the birds.

One thing that I keep thinking about is something that Larry told me and has posted on this board. David Reaves isn't calling the shots with QB's by everything that has been discussed. It's Kiffin and Chaney. So, how do you sell that to recruits?? It's going to be really interesting to see where that goes.

This is how you do it:

The guys that are recruiting you, Jesse, coached Leinhart, Palmer, Orton, Brees, Sanchez, Cassel, Booty...is that Ok with you, Jesse?

What kind of talent did you have surrounding them coach?? Did you run more of a balanced offense or run/pass heavy?? Who's blocking for me??

You're being anal. :) Like me.

I know you are caught up in this whole "they want to see our offense before they commit" kick, but I think it has more to do with a QB right now. Crompton isn't going to be chucking them balls so they are more concerned with who is, then looking at our offense. You won't be able to tell much about Kiffin's ideal offense by this season anyway it's going to be so run-heavy.

Although USC is always stacked, it would be easy to point out that Purdue wasn't exactly a powerhouse. And I'd mention turning around to hand the ball off to B.B. or Oku.
