A phone call at 10 pm isn't going to sway a recruit one way or the other if he's already made up his mind. Meyer is showing desperation in my opinion. He aint going to UF, it's between UT and USC. Relax because he'll be a Vol.

If he is going to spurn USC to travel all the way out East, it's going to be at a school where he has a chance to play and play early. He also has family here and glowed about his visit here just after visiting Florida and giving nowhere near the caliber of reviews. It's not hard to understand why he would keep Florida in his top 3, but at this point the real competition is between us and USC. I'm sure Jesse is yet to tell Urban that so the recruiting is going to continue.

He does this to all newbies thinks it is cool. I am guessing he is not sober right now. He did it to me when I first joined. Then he goes and protects young boys. Things that make you go hmmm...

I'm good, I just don't know how people don't think this is somewhat important, positive or negative. Talking to the HC of a program is usually a pretty big deal because most of the time it's the assistants that are assigned to them that speak with them most of the time.

Head coaches talk to recruits all the time. Really, Eric. You're stretching on this one.

Why would he even listen to Florida if he's not interested, especially at this point that most of us believe it's between USC and UT. That's who I believe it's between, but if he's talking to the HC then I would say that he's either committing or telling him to lay off because he isn't coming. At this point, that's the only thing that makes sense in my mind.

I'm not totally discounting it. I've read many quotes from recruits saying they talk to this coach or that coach on a regular basis. I just think this sort of thing goes on more than we know. In the end there aint much we can do but sit back, chill and wait.

Only person he protects really is tafka and IMO they keep banning him for no good reason. If you dont like what he has to say put him on your ignore list and you dont have to see what he post. Sorry for the rant.

I hope scroggins really is just calling him to be nice and this is nothing more to it then just being nice and calling him per his request.

No doubt, thing is though is that Jesse will have a decision soon. He only has three schools and I bet that he has a decision made before he starts summer camp for his HS.

Why in the world would a commitment be the only reason a recruit would talk to a head coach?? I swear dude. You would think this is your first year following recruiting.

I agree, I think he'll announce his decision sooner than later.. Especially if it's UT. He has to know that will help us.

Kind of strange the reason he gives for defending that guy is that he is attacked for no reason. And yet... pretty much every post he makes in the recruiting forum...

Your still dancing around the question of why he's calling him in the first place. I mean, are they trading recipes and women stories?? I don't think so, there's business being done, IMO.

I'm not dancing around anything. It could be anything. Coaches and recruits talk about all sorts of things. It could be anything from seeing how his USC camp went to talking about the weather in Southern California. What "business" could possibly be being done? I really don't get where you are coming from with this. Until Jesse tells Urban that he is going elsewhere, he will continue to recruit him. And until he knows where he is going for sure, he isn't going to tell Urban thanks but no thanks.
