It's sometime in late July, but i don't think Scroggins will be able to wait that long.

USC will pull the offer, but would UF or UT threaten the same?

Or do you just think that USC and UT are the only real players, and that a pulled USC offer sends him to UT earlier than the Elite 11 camp?

I know the UT staff wants his commit asap to help with other offensive recruits...

The reason why i think he will commit sooner than later is because each coach (Kiffin, Carroll, Meyer) will want a decision one way or another, because each will want to know whether or not they should start exploring other options, and in UT's case, help offensive recruiting.

USC doesn't even have to have a QB in the class. If he is who they want, they can wait until he is ready MUCH easier than we can. Our staff needs a QB and a high rated QB right now. We are having issues getting offensive kids to make a move. USC can wait until signing day if they want to adn it won't cost them anyone. jmo

I agree. If anyone should be asking for a commitment sooner than late July, it should be Coach Kiffin.

I had read somewhere that USC wouldn't leave the offer on the table for too long.

The point I was trying to make was that USC could pull the offer without batting an eye if Carol wanted to for some reason.

You do have good points though that USC could choose to offer him the least pressure in their recruiting pitch, because of their wealth of talent at the position.

His coach said he shouldn't do any interviews tonight. Hopefully i'll interview him in the next few days and get a feel as to where he's at.

I think the big edge we have over Florida is that he has family in Tennessee.

Yeah, I think TN has the offense style, family, and he can start early.

At UF and USC, he has a better chance to play for a MNC, but he would be in line to play.

I don't see him picking UF over USC, because USC it is right next to home, he has just as good of chance playing for a MNC at USC and the offense is more his style.

SC has been doing the silent committ thing because they don't want to be negatively recruited against.

Except if he doesn't qualify you have wasted one of the restricted LOI's that's now in effect on a position where there's solid depth and typically a plethora of good backs every year to recruit.

Just because you offer doesn't mean you sign.
Correct me if im wrong but have we or have we not offered to more recruits than we can sign? yeh exactly

per espn at usc camp...

Overall, the quarterback talent at the camp was not deep with really only a trio of quarterbacks separating themselves from the pack, but there was little doubt that Scroggins was the best of the bunch. At 6-foot-2, he has solid height, but he won't impress anyone with his physical build. What is impressive, however, is with his arm strength. Scroggins displayed the ability to quickly release the ball and get it to its target in a hurry. He never really looked to be forcing the ball or trying to throw it hard. He looked natural in his drop and release and showed the confidence as a passer that he showed on film. He possesses good athleticism and displayed it facing a fierce group of defensive linemen in team work. He displayed the ability to sit in the pocket and deliver the ball as well as the ability to avoid the rush and create second chances. This Under Armour All-American is one of a few remaining uncommitted, highly-graded quarterback prospects in this class and might be the best .

Sounds like he really showed USC what he is all about!
Hopefully our coaches will get in his ear a few times before he pulls the trigger.
I still have a hard time thinking he would go to USC with all the talent they have sitting on the bench right now. We have a ton to offer (playing time, SEC and great coaches) but at the end of the day I just want him to make his choice soon so if he decides to go somewhere else we can move on!
