This may have been posted, but it is a free Scout article about Scroggins competing for an offer with USC.

He claims that he isn't worried at all about QB depth. I think if USC offers, it's going to be a real challenge to pull him from the West Coast. I've said that anyway about Scroggins for as long as I can remember.

That wouldn't be smart to go to USC. Barkley and Corp are frosh and soph. If they decide to redshirt Barkley then he'll never play. That wouldn't be smart at all. When he could come here, play in the same system for four years, be better prepared by a tougher league, and have a chance to be a high draft pick.

even if he like to compete he aint going to USC. He is going to their camp to prove because he wants to show he is the best and win that scholarship... more for pride than anything

Dude I hope u are right. He wants to feel at home when choosing a place. Someone get momma's recipes and cook it for the boy when he gets here.

It just doesn't make sense for him to go to USC. He said he loves competition and doesn't mind redshirting but he also said he isn't going to go somewhere he would potentially sit the bench until his Junior or Sr year.

Plus the staff is holding off on some QB offers accdg to Retting until after the next camp..hint hint

He has spun conflicting stories as far as going somewhere where he has to compete. I think it may be a situation where if he comes East, he wants to make sure it's a situation where he has a shot to start immediately, but he would be willing to sit behind someone to go to a school such as USC. I think we'll know a lot more after he camps here.

He'll be here early. He arrives on the 15th and camp is on the 18th. He's going to make the most of his time and learn as much about UT as possible. I keep thinking about the amazing recruiting abilities of this staff and hope that they can reel him in on his visit. I think the staff will know for sure after he leaves if he is there guy or he is going to go elsewhere.

You got it. He's referring to the University in that statement I believe.
