Just got a text from a buddy who is somewhat in the trojan loop that both bailey and scroggins wanted to announce together today since jesse will be solo next week but it did not happen today.

bailey was deciding between USC and ND and Jesse was deciding between USC,UF and some other school :)

All indications is that it is a good day coming in Trojanville

Why are you here, brah?

It would be nice if we could stay positive with his dad.

The man only wants what he sees is best for his son. He's not trying to trick, decieve, or manipulate anyone. He's involved in his son's life and has said he'd support whatever decision he makes.

That's what Bryce's dad did. That's all we can ask.

You would hope so! BC it would BE at UTTTTT!!!

You'd hope so but his dad is a USC fan(maybe even alum) and he may want his son to play for his school and play where he can see him. If that was his reasoning for wanting him to go to USC, that is not looking out for his sons best interest. That would be his best interests. I don't know his dad so I'd hope that's not the case. I am sure you are right about him looking out for his best interests. I'm just saying if that was his reasoning for wanting JS to go to USC, that's terrible.

You'd want your son to play for the Vols too. It's normal.

They just have to work through all the issues together. In the end, we want his dad wearing orange and being just as proud of it as we are. They'll both realize that UT is the best option in due time and that Jesse being such a big part of his team's success is what's most important--for his happiness and his career.

Dads don't pick sports teams over their sons. It'll work out. Logic is on our side.

Two questions that are on the minds of USC and Tennessee Football fans, one is when will Lakeland California quarterback Jesse Scroggins make an announcement and what school will he choose. Many thought the decision could come today, it appears he will make his decision next week during the Elite 11 Camp. Go inside to get our thoughts on the delay. Does the delay favor UT?

Anyone kno more?

I know you are struggling with your decision. I just want you to know I wish you well wherever you play, but my heart will break for you if you announce Trojan. We love you in Tennessee. You would be our hero.

Some quarterbacks have two year careers and make it, but the odds are against it. Look at Tee Martin, he played for two years won a National Championship at Tennessee and then couldn't make it in the NFL. He had all the tools. What was the deal? He wasn't developed enough to play at that extremely high level. He's in coaching now and good for him. DJ Shockley decided to follow a very talented QB in David Greene to UGA. David Greene started all four years and set SEC passing records. Shockley had a senior year to show what he could do and was everything that the league was looking for at the time. A Michael Vick type guy who could throw. Shockley, despite having a very good senior year, had to wait until the 7th round before his name was called. He will be battling with a pretty good QB in John Parker Wilson for the 3rd string job. All I am saying is think.

But I watch you and I think you do what it is you do as good as it's ever been done. But you need first team reps for all four years to really develop into an elite QB prospect and be ready for the NFL. Chaney put Drew Brees into the NFL and look at him now. Your skill set reminds me a lot of Brees.

I just don't want you to make a decision based on distance when it could effect your entire career-- your life even. Yes USC has developed great QBs, but the man who had a large part in those guys and their heismans is in Knoxville leading the Orange. We will be winning National Championships sooner or later. If you decide to be a Vol, it will be sooner. Great Recruits will follow you to Knoxville. It's a family here. And that family doesn't end with the team. We are part of one big family -- The Big Orange Nation. And we love our athletes, we love our coaches, but most importantly we love our Quarterbacks. Hell, I hear all the time about random vol fans on a message board that have sat down with Monte Kiffin over a beer and talked football. He loves to talk football. He'll talk you ear off, but as fans, we eat it all up!!! We love Lane Kiffin and the brass he has brought to this battle.

We are realistic though, none of us exppects to go out and dominate under Kiffin's first year, but 7 wins and a decent bowl would be a great first step to greatness. Then in year two, we'd have you under center and you will never experience anything else in life as great as walking to the huddle on your first play and the screams for you are so loud you can't even call the play. You are a warrior so I know you'll be stone faced, but you'll be smiling inside. Running through the T is something that we hold sacred here in Tennessee (I'm in Nashville and yes the fans here are just as rabid and loving as the ones up in and around Knoxville.

We are really in it with two receivers that are ranked in the Rivals 250 that have all but said they want to be Vols if you are going to be their quarterback. You know who they are you talk to them all the time. Jac told me he was gonna kick your butt if you put on anything but an orange hat. (J/K On that one) We'lll cry for a while, then try to understand why, and then it's WTF do we do now? mode. Because without you. It's going to be hard on this great family. We will still watch your career in earnestness and wish you the very best -- see you're already part of our family. (some will hope that you ride the bench behind Barkley and then Ride the bench behind that 5 Star guy they signed one year behind you.) But most of us will love you and want well for you. That's just the kind of people that live here in Tennessee. I'm sure your mom's family knows something about that.

The SEC is the undisputed greatest conference in the land. We just signed a $2.25 billion deal with ESPN to ensure that every single SEC conference game is broadcast on TV. You will be on TV. Scouts will see you lead us to greatness. What a story. Most guys in the business of covering college football are in bed by the time the West Coast games come on, if they are even broadcast. That's huge.

The UT campus is nice. Knoxville is one of the greatest places on Earth to go to school. WE are all a family. I hope I see you on campus sometime so I can shake the hand of a man that is getting set to play big time NFL ball. You got it in you, bro, you just have to take advantage of all your opportunities. Work your hardest whatever it is you are doing. At Tennessee You will get first team reps your freshman year and there is a real possibility of winning that starting QB job. The longer you do it at a high level, the better your chances are for the millions that come with playing at the next level. We love you Jesse.

you've just guaranteed that if this kid comes to Tenn that he'll be picked up by the cops as a freshman after a 10 hooker killing spree.

I would but I would try to sway his decision to the school that benefits him the most. If it was the other way around, UT had just signed the #1 QB on both scout/rivals while USC's starting quarterback is graduating... I am telling my son to go to USC. Tennessee wouldn't even be an option in my mind. Unless... my son didn't care about starting or care about a future in the pros and just wanted a free education while watching some good football. As we know, Jesse wants to start and wants a future in the pros. They can't look at Matt Cassel and use him as their reasoning. That was luck.

Yea... I think that's what his dad will do too, but he's invested a lot of years hoping his son would get an offer at SC. It finally happened.

It just came with a 'catch 22' that wasn't part of the dream. They have to confront that now.

USC QB situation on Matt Barkley on ESPN 2 right now. They are saying that USC has a high chance to start Barkeley next year if he can prove himself...I know its nothing new, but Jesse should DEFINATELY be considering this BIG TIME

per hubbs..."NL was upset that the school released the info, he's been trying to keep it quiet...the press release was premature. I guess that's why the juco took it off their site."

:) Nice man!

No one knows where Scroggins is going so I don't see why Tennessee fans feel good about posting that Scroggins is going to USC. A lot of people thought he was going to announce with Bailey today but he didn't. That benefits Tennessee. I think Tennessee fans who are going to be negative and just assume Scroggins is USC bound should keep that to themselves. It's almost like some of the people saying it want him to go to USC. Like I said, I'm glad this staff isn't like half the posters on this board. They would have thrown in the towel on Janzen, Nu'keese, Teague and Bryce.

i dont plan on having any kids for a long long time, but i like to think that i would tell my son to go wherever he wanted to. no matter what a depth chart looked like or who i was a fan of.

thats just me.

Whether it's Barkely or Corp starting this year, there are still two in front of him the next three years.

Actually, Barkely starting could be better for Jesse. That means MB wouldn't redshirt and SC would have one less year to recruit someone to play ahead of Jesse during his 4th year there. It's just a mess to sign with a team who has that much talented depth at your position. Literally, you could be the 3rd best college quarterback on the planet, and if you're on the same teams with whoever is deemed first and second, you're still a third string quarterback.

Why take that kind of chance when you know that as the 3rd best college QB (worst case, let's say), play against the best defenses in college ball, and prove to NFL scouts that you are good enough to play at the highest level? And, be a hero for 110k+ radical fans along in along the way!

Logic is on our side. And, it's not that complicated. There's just a lot of emotional issues that have to be trumped.
