if you have had him for over a month now, then why was Rees, Scroggins and Rettig offered knowing that jesse was #1 and they were saving a spot for him?
You are taking two QB correct?
Okay, so everyone is so worried over Scroggins. I will admit that if we get Scroggins it might help us in offensive recruiting. However, I went back and looked at last years final 25 according to one site, and looked up their starting QB's and the backups out of high school, according to Rivals.
Backup in Parentheses, could not find Kellen or Jevon Snead
1. Florida Tim Tebow 5 stars (John Brantley 4 stars)
2. USC Mark Sanchez 5 stars (Aaron Corp 4 stars)
3. Utah Brian Johnson 2 stars (Corbin Louks 2 stars)
4. Texas Colt McCoy 3 Stars (John Chiles 4 stars [Recruited as ATH])
5. Oklahoma Sam Bradford 3 stars (Drew Allen 3 stars)
6. Alabama John Parker Wilson 3 stars (Greg McElroy 3 stars)
7. TCU Andy Dalton 3 stars (Marcus Jackson 2 stars)
8. Penn State Darryl Clark 3 stars (Kevin Newsome 4 stars)
9. Ole Miss Jevon Snead (Could not find stars) (Nathan Stanley 3 stars)
10. Texas Tech Graham Harrell 4 stars (Taylor Potts 3 stars)
11. Oregon - Nathan Costa (3 stars), (Justin Roper 3 stars)
12. Boise State- Kellen Moore (Couldnt find), (Bush Hamden 2 stars)
13. Virginia Tech Sean Glennon 4 stars, (Tyrod Taylor 5 stars)
14. Georgia Matthew Stafford 5 stars, (Joe Cox 3 stars)
15. Tood Boeckman 3 stars, (Terrell Pryor 5 stars)
Out of the Top 15 teams, Only 5 (unless Snead or Kellen Moore was one) had QB's rated 4 OR 5 stars. The rest had QB's that weren't very sought after, or at least weren't rated high. IF we don't get a 4 star QB in this class, it is not the end of the world. This year, we are stuck with Crompton, Stephens, and now LaMaison. IF we can just get one of those guys to manage the offense and make plays when needed (What all of those QBs on top 15 teams did), then we can be in the Top 15 too.
Not all hope is lost, even if we lose Jesse. Now, I do want him, as the staff obviously feels he is good enough, but I am just offering a little hope and encouragement to the Vol Nation that our entire season and future does NOT rest upon July 25th and the decision there. We now have 2 quarterbacks on the roster for 2010, and we have a VERY STRONG class of QB's coming up in 2011, so lets start hoping for LeMay, Golson, or Bridgewater.
If we get Scroggins, great. I think he'll be a good fit. I honestly do think we will get him, I think he knows that Tennessee puts him on a HUGE stage in a HUGE conference right away. But if we don't....we'll make it.
Hope this helps some people get a grip on our situation. GO VOLS!

Nice to see your in Sab. Did you get the Lamison news?Something to take some comfort in: All of these rumors that were out there had Scroggins and Bailey announcing early, am I wrong on that? Now those rumors were proved false. Jesse says he still plans on announcing on the 25th. Should we find comfort in that or am I just reaching for things to feel positive about?

if you continue to hang around, you are going to have to provide some information on USC.
I know Michael Coleman was wanting to return this season. Is Pete letting him back? If not, is he going elsewhere?

I know everything says Scroggins is waiting and Bailey may wait. This article is from today.
Lakewood has defensive back Dion Bailey, who appears to be deciding among Notre Dame, Tennessee and USC.
My brother works for the athletic dept and he said Scroggins, Bailey and Milton will be in Knoxville for a visit this weekend....Kinda like a final walk through. He said everyone is stoked and really laying it all on the line....
He said a Redbull truck pulled up to the athletic offices today and Coach O pile drived the driver then chugged 4 in about 30 seconds....
