The SC insider board apparently is pretty much convinced scroggins is a silent commit to SC (of course they said the same thing about desean jackson back in the day). hope they are wrong. i'd like to see him at tenn and out of the conference.

He says we get JS. That's probably about even odds, huh?

I believe you when you say that Jacques firmly believes Scroggins to be a Vol.

If he holds such belief, like many others, he is in error. Admittedly, if the depth chart is the sole factor in JS' decision, sure, we've got him. However, if it's not, then the following seem to be predominant reasons why so many seem to hold out such fervent hope that he's all Vol (in no particular order):
  • Hope
  • Wishful thinking
  • "Feeling(s)" ("Gut" or otherwise, including generalized tingling)
  • Dream(s)
  • Urges
  • Pure Fantasy
  • Mostly Pure Fantasy
  • Partially Pure Fantasy
  • Pixie dust
Scroggins goes to USC. Some follow him, others do not. We sign the JUCO, and a "developmental" player who lights it up this coming season.

We ride into next season with JC / NS / JUCO.

2011 we go with JUCO / NS / Developmental player from '10 Class.

**Quick Aside***
You may be asking, why the JUCO at #1 going into '11? Well, because he's better than NS, that's why. I mean, right now. As. You're. Reading. These. Words. He's. Better. He's not only better now, but he'll be better then, only by a much more significant margin, having one year's worth of learning the system by the '11 season.

In 2011 we sign our guy, likely THE guy of the class, whoever that is.

Despite losing Heaps, Bell, Rettig, Scroggins and the rest.....let me be the first to predict that the world continues spinning on its axis, unabated.

Good post... TenD!

I think the players are right, but I think next year's Juco (CM) is a different guy from this year's (NL). I also think NS beats out JC by halftime UF this season and starts in 2010.
