Honestly, that's kinda ridiculous. Think about it. Rettig KNOWS that he is going to have an offer to wherever Scroggins doesn't go, either USC or UT. So instead of waiting 2 more weeks and letting Jesse get his 15 minutes of fame, you believe Rettig is going to commit to a school that is completely across the US in the freezing cold and be the #2 QB in the BC 2010 class behind Jon Boisture? Not gonna happen...
Does anyone really think any of the '10 QB's are the savior of the program? Everyone has said it's a weak crop anyway.
Go hard after the one that seems to have the most room for improvement, coach him up and see what happens. If CLK gets a top prospect for 2011, great.
Probably pretty important for us to have a QB in every class for depth reasons
I agree that one is needed, but it seems that alot of people on here think if UT does not get their 4* qb, all is lost. I still think that a couple of the high profile qb's that have committed, will change their mind before signing day (it is 8MONTHS from now). Let things work themselves out....UT will have a very highly rated qb in the 2010 class.
Kevin Scott is saying that Rettig is a silent contingent on Scroggins decision. It makes sense. He's also saying that we are finished at QB with a Rettig commitment. The Dietrich Riley rumor makes me think this is for real.

I wouldn't call it a stretch. We take Rettig and we also get Lamaison for this upcoming season.
So 2010 season were left with Stephens, Rettig, Lamaison, Rozier(maybe)...Seems like they will cut their losses and make it up with a stellar 2011 QB.
We might have our stellar QB already if we take Rettig. I really believe this kid is the real deal. He is getting better and better and apparently has one of the strongest arms in the country. I look for him to have a really good year and for his stock to go through the roof. I just hope he is committed to UT when that happens, and he remains that way.
I didn't mean he was bad, if we get Rettig I believe he'll be the only one for 2010 class.
What if Scroggins commits to Florida and USC and UT both offer Rettig at the same time? That could really put us in a pickle.
I don't expect Jesse to pick Florida but you never know. Hopefully if this happens, Rettig still commits to us. The Depth chart is a no brainer, but he is a California boy.
