This is a train wreck waiting to happen.. It will not pan out the way Foley and Meyer think it will..

Too many ego's...

You may be right Pride, but in the short term it is a great fix. It would have been a complete UF meltdown if this went through as stated yesterday.

I am 100% convinced that Meyer stated what he said today to try and salvage the recruiting class for the University. He realized how much collateral damage there would be if he resigned. I expect his 'indefinite absence' to become permanent about 2 weeks after NSD.

What a scumbag.

IMO theres nothing scumbaggish to it.

Lute Olson did the same thing at Arizona the last few yrs

I am hearing he has talked to Meyer and has reaffirmed his commitment to UF. He was apparently devastated last night and felt almost betrayed. He talked to Meyer and felt better and should be in this class for UF. He is key for us to hopefully land Ronald Powell.

He is really gullible to believe anything CUM promises.

Lying to high school kids who want to be 100% about where they get their college education,IMO, is very scumbaggish

please dont be naive and imply they are making the decision based on education.

those kids know the game

Does anyone think that Florida went to plan B because the recruiting class was falling apart faster than they could do damage control? Do you think that they would have had problems bringing in a big name coach with CUM "overseeing" the program?

thats exactly what they did

The press conference was so weird.

I thought that the initial statement was so generic. The way he struggled through it, it seemed like it was handed to him just as he walked on stage.

He seemed to be taken back by some of the questions, like he never would have expected them, although they were pretty predictable IMO.

Lastly, yesterday in his statement and today in the press conference, he repeatedly mentioned family first. I think it is odd that after he discussed all this with his family and they supported his move, he decides on a whim during practice that he has a change of heart and his first move is to talk with Foley, then his team, and after all of that, his family.

Something is going on at UF and it hasnt got out yet is what I think

This wouldn't surprise me at all.

I still think Meyer had a minor heart attack and is scared to death. And he'll resign after NSD. This is just a ruse because he was stunned how fast kids were reconsidering their UF commitments.

I really hope he's done at UF. I can't stand the guy. Smarmy is the word I'd use to describe him.

I think this could actually be a really good thing for Tennessee. If it is a ploy just to keep recruits and Meyer does resign immediately after signing day, that leaves Steve Adazzio as their head coach. He couldn't come close to running an offense this year, much less the entire team next year.

If so I'd like that recruit to be made known. This recruiting stuff isn't for the meek.
