#1 Reason Freeze should NOT be hired!

Very good point, and I think you are right, no one is debating Freeze's ability, but going through a OC hunt again is just more of the same. However, if we hired someone else and he turned this around, would he leave? just don't know these days.

However, stay 2-3 years at TN and do well? He will have big shot offers within the SEC. Think about it this way, what head coach is likely to be gone in the SEC in the next 2-3 seasons? Chad Morris likely, LSU could be an opening (I think Coach O is a season by season judgement), South Carolina could decide to move on and Vandy/UK could move on from current coaches.

Staying a coordinator in the SEC would give him the best shot at a big time head coaching gig. Leaving after one year to go to some middle of the road Power 5 school doesn't help him. Also as OC, he only has to do half the job of the head coach. Seriously doubt he'd rather go to some Group of 5 school for a few seasons and then try to jump.

FSU may be open in another year.

If we do not hire Freeze the i hope we hire Dan Enos from Bama. He is the asst head coach and QB coach. If Bama's OC leaves he probaly ends up with the OC job at Bama. I think for the long term Enos would be better.

Totally agree. It's not that I don't think that Freeze would do a great job, it would only be a year. What gets me is that everyone uses the excuse of where Bama is NOW, not where they were. Saban built the program and hired coaches that are great but coach within the program. Helton, pro style, 60-40 run pass, Freeze, speed spread, 50-50 run pass, little to no full back, who's next and what offense?

Yet once again, missing the mark but I'll play. Saban's first year he hired Major Applewhite, he left and THEN hired sharktooth, 08-11, 2 Natties. We need to run the same offense with the recruited players that can play in that offense. After that, we'd have so much talent, we can run whatever we want. If we continue to skip steps in the process, we'll just have to start over again!!!!!

Considering we just had an OC with a 5-7 record leave the program for a head coaching job, I don't see much logic in being assured Lindsey will be here a few years.

I beg to differ. HF had his chance at at Ole Miss and got caught cheating bad! It will be several years before a decent program will offer him a HC job IMHO. It would really do JP well also to have a former SEC HC who beat Bama twice on the sidelines with in game decision making.

Fulmer will make the right decision and guide JP in this process.

Don't hire a coach because he will probably be successful and attract other schools, instead make a mediocre hire because he will be here until we fire him....................... Makes a lot of sense

If he is one and done it will most likely mean we had great success with him, which is fine by me but you never know what kind of offers he may get.
