This is rich. Hugh Freeze has zero chance of being a 1 year OC for us unless we go win the SEC. Even then, Saban likely has a heart attack and retires with Pruitt taking over and Freeze taking over Tennessee.

Our current roster on offense has major issues and weaknesses across all 11 positions. You obviously are wise on contracts. Easy way to fix this is to get him on a contract over a million bucks for year 1 with incentives. For year 2, add 300K and keep incentives. For year 3, add a 750K increase.

Let's face it, Freeze is at best staying at UT for a minimum of 2 years. The icing on the cake is keeping him for year 3.

Outside of posting Bama like numbers on offense, he will be here for a minimum of 2 years. That is if we hire him.

Anyone can be one and done. Helton was. You just never know if someone will stick around or bolt - so why not hire the best and lock them in with a contract that will hurt them if they try to leave.

He’ll still get offers after 1 year even if we don’t have a great season because he’s a winner with a proven track record. Schools are desperate for good coaches.

I think the biggest risk with Freeze is the short-term nature of his employment. With that being said, if the new OC (not Freeze) is a homerun, he's gone in 2 years. If he's another Helton, Pruitt and gang are gone in 2 years.....
