#1 on my Phil Fulmer replacement list:

Yeah I would like a guy who has lost five of his last six bowl games too!!!!

Sheesh, reading this tread has been th biggest waste of my time that I can remember.
You don't read much of your own posts, do you?

I agree Spurrier would be a great choice..... If he would come... Sounds ridculous and i'm sure we'll both get flamed for it but he would get the program back on track.

But the UT admins are they going to hire anybody that isn't an Alumni... will they get their heads and that philosophy out of their a$$..... i doubt i predict Fulmer for 2 more years until HE retires.

SOS would be a horrible choice IMHO. He's ready for pasture. UT, like most other football schools, needs a young stud HC. You already have an old one.

Been a Vols fan since Bill Battle was coaching. When even Ky. is getting excited about football you have to reevaluate.
The SEC is better right now than its been in years and I don't believe Phil is the right kind of coach for right now. 1999 is long ago.

The guy at USF is a friggin Looney Tune who recruits Tampa exclusively, second harvesting kids picked over by UF, FSU & UM..not saying he wouldnt help recruiting in Florida..but most of his kids are from there.. and thats a big draw for them ..D1 ball 25 miles from home..I watched MANY of them while I was living there ..Ben Moffit for one

I have no problem if they call Cowher or Gruden. But let's be realistic, neither of those guys are coming here.

I've went through all the posts in this topic and there is one name that I haven't seen who happens to be my top choice. Perhaps someone mentioned him and I missed it, but I think that Brian Kelly would bring some exciting changes to this program. Some big program is going to hire him and they will be better for doing so, I hope it's Tennessee.

I agree Brian Kelly will get a hard look.So will utah's coach and that hack from Rutgers.
Also dont be surprised if randy sanders wouldnt get an interview.

wikipedia didnt match, i hate to google, somebody just tell me. i know yall love being informative and its good for everybody

Miles can recruit, and maybe part of that is the talent he has in state, but his teams win in spite of his coaching.

He was subpar at Oklahoma State.

If you take away the talent he has, he is in tough shape.

Reminds me of Fulmer in the 90's...

The name is South Florida but the school is in Tampa. The Tampa area is nice but a couple million a year will get him to UT. It's not like he's lounging on South Beach as a HC anyway. His family might not appreciate it but I bet they'd welcome the increase in pay/notoriety. I think people underestimate the draw that a historic power like UT has. You may get run out of town if you lose but if you win then you will be revered and make a name for yourself. He's not going to ever be able to do that at USF. The entire reason that you coach at a school like that is to use it as a stepping stone to a place like UT. Who wouldn't want to coach in the SEC?

Actually its CENTRAL florida...They still get pretty cold up there in the winter unlike the Miami/Key West area...I know its hard to understand but there is a major difference in weather here than there...Give you an example, I've seen it 35 degrees in Tampa and it would still be 70 degrees in Miami...Odd huh? :) And people wonder why I live here :p
By that logic, everyone would be going to UM (although not a state university), FAU or FIU instead of UF or FSU since they are further north ...

Yes, USF is in Tampa (so further north than Miami), but it's not like it's in Ann Arbor either.

I would love to see Sylvester Croom come in as the defensive coordinator. A solid guy with an good background that can really get a good defense on the field. Not to mention he teaches discipline extremely well. Watch the gaps during a Miss. State game and you can tell they are a well coached defensive team. They just lack talent.
