Being promoted from coordinator to HC might change his mind. Why stay and be coordinator when you can be the head man?

Yeah, but that coordinator job isn't exactly a terrible one.

Chris Peterson. that's who we need. or Paul Johnson, but that'll never happen he has exactly what he wants at tech. IMO Peterson would be a great choice. His selling point, "Hell I got kids to come to Boise, just imagine what I could do at Tennessee."

I agree with Peterson being the guy We should go after...He's an offensive genius and He has that fire We need at UT, not to mention He would be able to recruit great here!...Like I heard said, If He can recruit great players at boise St, Imagine what He could do at UT :)

Now follow me here, I have been an avid Fulmer fan for years. Even after 2005 I stood by his side. After going to the game on Saturday I have come to the conclusion that it is time to part ways. I appreciate all Fulmer has done for us. The Fulmer years were great. They are now over.

My solution:
Chris Petersen from Boise State.
we can pay him more and he is a great coach.
Look at what he has done.
With our recruiting imagine the possibilities.

I had several in depth conversations about this during and after the game. I'm not an expert, but we came to this same conclusion as who we would like. Someone with a great track record and young.

I am also on the same stance as you are with Fulmer. Time to turn in his resignation. Thanks for the wonderful memories

Petersen is perfect. Yeah a guy like Sarkisian sounds great and looks good on paper, but with 6 McDonalds All Americans just at Tailback, ****, Jerry Greene could take a team to the top 5, especially in the Pac-10. Now Petersen built a program with Athletes far less talented than Tennessee. He is explosive. He would bring a charisma to the program that we have lacked for a while. I mean he can recruit, and he can play the players right. God bless you Phil Fulmer. You have brought more happiness to me as a Volunteer fan than anyone. I appreciate that. Turn in the towel. End on a good note with Tennessee. I don't want to fire him, he should resign.

The only bad side is that Petersen might want to put blue turf in Neyland Stadium.

We can pay Peterson multitudes of what he is making at Boise St. I think he would **** his pants at the chance to coach UT.

As to Trooper Taylor: When he coached RB's our RB's sucked, when he coached WR's, our WR's sucked. He is overrated. Yeah the players like him and he was charismatic, but come on!

Other than hiring a new coach. The only thing I can think of is finding another Al Wilson. He is the real reason we won in 98.

How about Spurrier? He's from Tennessee, can't recruit worth a lick at usc, a dead end program, and would come to UT in a heartbeat, with a $3 mil offer. He'd win big here early.

Turner Gill, Muschamp, Bronco

Or, Charlie Strong....If we can't beat him, take him out of the mix

I like Will Muschamp. My dream hire would be Bob Stoops but that will never happen.

I agree Spurrier would be a great choice..... If he would come... Sounds ridculous and i'm sure we'll both get flamed for it but he would get the program back on track.

But the UT admins are they going to hire anybody that isn't an Alumni... will they get their heads and that philosophy out of their a$$..... i doubt i predict Fulmer for 2 more years until HE retires.

I'm new the nation, but I've thought for a few years that Sarkisian will make a great head coach. He's not that far removed from playing himself and he somehow manages to keep 6 tailbacks happy. He's proven he didn't need Kiffin's help to run that offense. I know Carroll is the un common denominator there, but I think hes got the type of intensity and innovation that Tennessee could use. I've defended Fulmer before but I think it is time for change.

Sarkesian i think would be a great hire. Why wouldn't he want to come to the best conference in America and coach a traditionally rich program. We know he could bring in the players.

I'm not sold on Peterson. Seems like a good coach but i don't think he's SEC material. Gotta be able to recruit against the likes of Saban, Meyer, Richt, Miles, etc. Don't think he can cut it.

I like Mark Dantonio also. Tough coach that likes to run the ball and can recruit.

Spurrier is too old. If we hired him, chances are he wouldn't be there too long. I want an up and comer who's hungry and motivated.

Bronco Mendenhall @ BYU
Gary Patterson @ TCU
Mark Dantonio @ Michigan State

All good defensive coaches. All are relatively young and AFFORDABLE.
