1 game out of 12....

People have been saying "It's just one game" 10 times in the past 24...

yep, there comes a time when you have to come to the realization you're going to have to change something cause it's not working. That's when you put your foot down and improve or start packing.

Why whine about the discussion on Volnation? You're welcome to leave.

I'm not whining, I'm laughing. Considering the one track mind of blaming the coaching isn't going to change anything. Don't worry, you'll feel better in the morning.

If the past is the past when speaking about wins, why isn't it the same with the losses?

I'm not overly optimistic. If you'll check the prediction thread for the Amazon gift card, you'll see that I picked Cal to win.

It isn't about tonight's game, it's about "the same ole routine" with people crying about Fulmer as it is the "same ole routine" with what's going on in Knoxville.

because the losses are george w. bush past and the wins are george h.w. bush past. does that make sense to you?

What gets me is Fulmer just gave the impression to give up after the punt on the 20 with 1:45 to go, why not go for it?

Getting off the blocks, and getting to the ball. -will overstreet

5-6
9-4
0-1
14-11 since 04

I completely agree, this isn't year one of this or just started I mean seriously this has been coming for awhile now and i'm glad some of us realize it. I mean and its only harder now than it used to be, the SEC is wayyy harder and tougher than it even was when we were dominating.

I mean look at the recruiting.......some of our best players came from Bama and GA but not as of late and not anymore.

Richt has most of the local talent sewn up in GA and do you think Sabin will let players leave the state like they used to?, not to mention Tuberville sewing a good deal up also.

Even all that isn't saying anything about all the top flight coaches that can get the top flight players now. I mean we have Sabin, Spurrier, Richt, Tuberville, and we don't really know about Meyer but he just won a title with someone else's talent so Florida really recruited itself, and Miles who's still playing with Sabin's talent is gonna continue to be good at least till they graduate.

With all that said and if things stay that way who exactly is Tennessee gonna be better than every year now?

Bama...not for long, LSU at least not till Sabin's people graduate, Spurrier, we know Phil can't beat him, Meyer... he's already losing to him. Auburn....killed us the last time we played them I think.... so just at that point we're now what....4th or 5 every season and that is if we can get by Georgia every year and that hasn't happened too much since Richt got there.

I don't know about the rest of Big Orange nation but i'm thinking that isn't gonna be good enough!!

You realize that anyone else who makes 2 million a year doing any other job would have been fired long ago.

Saban can coach. Richt can coach. Urban can coach. Spurrier can hella coach.

Fulmbler is done.

I'll be fine. It'll be pretty funny when UT loses five games this year and then Fulmer tries to rationalize why the Vols still had a great season.

Don't you know, we are always one or two plays away every game. Of course those plays are touchdowns worth 7 points each, but hey, who is counting?

.....and look at how many FANS have already quit and given up on the season. And that's just on ONE message board.

I'm sure your Vols who were out there fighting to try and win the game really appreciate the support. They aren't quitting or writing off the season. They also aren't of the opinion that every loss falls on one person just like every win doesn't fall on one person.

We have at least 2 teams on the schedule that are better then Cal. The Dline doesn't look any better then last year, and they were terrible. There is good reason for concern.

When did you get out of jail Ms. Cleo?

Voodoo makes more sense than expecting Fulmer to get the program to the top of the SEC. How many teams have won the SEC in the last 4 years? Four. There's lots of competition these days. UT isn't a part of that.

That's obvious! He read the message boards and saw how many eejits condemned him for "hurting Ainge" by calling a pass play with even better odds of success against ND.

How long have you guys been fans? Just curious really? I know I have been putting up with the same old bs since 98...we are no longer relevant on a national level...i hate to break it to you...

I lived thru the 70s and 80s as a die hard Vol. The "same old BS" looked pretty good back then. Imagine how many football programs would love to have a undefeated NC in the past decade. 102 of 112 don't and we're not in the group.

Welcome long time VOL fan!

Tennessee is second in all time bowl appearances, third in all time bowl wins. We have 2 consensus AP national championships, 13 SEC championships. And we are in the top 10 all time in wins.

I don't want to go back to the 70s and 80s, that is beneath the stature of our program. We should expect better.

How many BCS conference teams have a conference championship after 1998?

35 of 65 do and we aren't in that group.

I actually think we should have taken a knee on that drive to run the clock out. At least Cal would not have been able to rack up any more yards against our defense.

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

it was a hell of a game......we came up against a squad with more chemistry, team speed and experience than we did. Our youth showed and we came up short. despite our obvious shortcomings I was prooud of this team for keeping the fight up as long as they could.

One game does not make a Vol!

Fulmer and the staff need to get their sh8t together.
