Heard the one guy on the radio today saying it almost never happens to go from 1-7 to much better than .500 the year after in conference play. It's a fair point and while we are much better talent wise and depth wise, it made me question my expectations ....just a bit! :)

Still, what do we say about this VN? Discuss amongst yourselves. I think 10 wins is doable, but that would likely mean 6-2 in the conference and put this team in rarified air for one year turnarounds.

5-3, or 4-4. I'm worried about msu, Georgia, bama, & USC. I think we upset one georgia, or USCjr. Msu will be hard on the road, but we should eek out a victory.

I think best we can hope for is 5-3 in SEC, 10-3 overall including a bowl win.

We have talent again, but we just haven't been winning against good competition, it just doesn't happen overnight very often which is the premise of the OP. Usually it takes a while to build up the skins. A 4 win in-conference swing would be very good.

That scares me. In 2011 is when they finally learned their new 3-4 defense.

I disagree. John Jenkins was the key for them, much in the same way that Terrence Cody was the key for Bama. I think our time table is shortened if McCullers is everything we've heard. He'll allow the linbackers to roam freely while I haven't really heard any doubt that we have ends. My biggest questions are in the secondary, but I'm hopeful.

Not playing LSU and Arky could make a huge difference this year. I say between 2 and 4 conference losses.

1-7 with two best offensive players hurt, and arguably the hardest schedule in the nation. We are healthy and not playing as hard a schedule, very DO-ABLE to be above .500

GO VOLS

Losses @UGA, @South Carolina, and Bama.

I think we would beat UGA and South Carolina if we were playing in Neyland, though.

If we beat Florida and mizzu and get one of sc, uga, or bama than I'm a happy camper. I don't care too much about miss st.

We are not losing to Georgia this year. It's very likely we'll beat South Carolina too, But I do know we will not lose to Georgia.
