Gran contacts an AU commitment:

Brandon Jacobs of Lilburn, Ga., is still committed to Auburn. But Jacobs confirmed Monday new Tennessee running backs coach Eddie Gran has contacted him. Gran worked at Auburn for 10 years under Tommy Tuberville.

Jacobs added Gran, who recently joined Lane Kiffin's staff at Tennessee, did not make an official offer or ask him to visit, but the two will be in contact over the next few days.

Jacobs said his official visit was on Jan.9, but the running back from Georgia hasn't ruled out taking more visits.

From the Auburn site. Committed to Auburn. He says that the staff and the way they bond with the players was a big reason he made the call. He also likes the fact that Auburn is so close to home.

Looks to me like Brandon Jacobs and Tony Williams are the same player. They both run the same and about the same size

no, but it looks like this will generate some discussion about him as a player that goes beyond just Gran's visit.

We haven't offered yet...but I'm sure Gran recruited him at Auburn...if not I'm sure they have a good rapport.
