09 CA S Byron Moore - UT Commit

If Moore's daddy wins out and pushes him to Miami... I hope Gabe Wrights momma wins out and pushes him to us... and I hope that Dawson's granny loves Tennessee and pushes him our way!

Win some, lose some, but I'd take that trade.

His dad probably got the final say. With him delaying the announcement till monday I could see him picking up a tennessee hat very slowly then quickly putting a miami hat on, that old gag. Dooley is a heck of a closer though.

I wouldn't bang on the parents of these kids too much. I'd rather have the kid make his own choice but when I think of myself at that age making this important of a choice with so many jackals trying to sell you on lies. A lot of kids are ready for these decisions at their age, some are not. I have no problem with a parent looking out for a naive kid's best interests. I'd love to see Moore at UT but I think the kid will be fine whether he lands at UT or the U; at least he had the sense to get the heck out of USC.

I agree, parents only want whats best for their kids and their situations. I want him here really bad(no homo) but he has to do what is best for himself or what he feels is best for himself. The quote he had earlier on this board" the championship goes through the SEC "is what he should keep in mind. He will get to the NFL through both schools but the chance to play at the highest level in all college football is through the SEC. BM come on and compete at the highest level with a "on the rise" Tennessee team. You will look better in UT orange.

"Tennessee is in the SEC," Moore said. "That's the top football conference and you can't beat that. Five straight championships is a fact. They are young and up and coming. There is a lot of potential when I watched them this season. Their staff is brand new and I feel comfortable about this staff being there for a while. I have a great relationship with coach (Derek) Dooley, coach (Justin) Wilcox and coach (Terry) Joseph. I talk to them on a weekly basis. I think I can start the first game at either school."

tifwiw...

Context is our friend. That was from a series of retweets that listed all of the common thoughts that fan base's like to think about recruits. If it was indeed about his UT recruitment, it was probably directed towards boards like this, in an effort show people how misinformed they are. Go back and reread.

Dooley, Wilcox, and Joseph put the full-court press on him. I'm optimistic until I'm proven wrong. I think we have a pretty good shot, contrary to what most people here may think.

To those who have been saying that Auburn winning this year does not matter, read this quote. It matters.

I usually root for the SEC team in the NC game. Even though I dislike UF and Alabubba, a lot, the above statement is one reason why rooting for the SEC school makes a difference.

Some parents are genuinely concerned to help their child make a important decision and some parents try to live through their children. Dad must have wanted to go to the "U".

We recruit better when we are winning than when Alabama, Auburn and Florida are winning. I also feel better.

true, but its still interesting hence the father discussion lately

The U or Tennessee? Both schools are not where they were a short time ago. Volnation did get his twitter cred up so I think that is the tipping point. He will be a Vol. Sound logic?

I hope. You guys being strong again will help limit Florida's recruiting. I'm pulling for the U and the Noles these next few years.
