The reason I dare to compare is because of the coaching staff. The staff in Utah obviously know what they are doing. They have above average talent, and fantastic coaches.

Sounds like us...

You could argue their schedule vs. ours, sure. But they did beat Michigan, TCU, BYU, and Alabama. Yeah, SEC is a lot harder

Not saying we'll go undefeated and beat the hell out of someone in the Sugar Bowl, but possibly surprise a lot of people by beating some teams we aren't supposed to beat.

Thoughts?

I drink the Kool-aid as much as anyone, but I doubt that this team goes to a BCS game this year.

Man, That Orange Kool-Aid is really strong today. I think the mixture is off, im afraid it could use alot more watering down. nice thought though.

That comparison makes no sense. '08 Utah was a non-BCS school that won a BCS game.

'09 Tennessee is a BCS school that probably won't even go to a BCS game.

If TN is the 2009 "Utah" she won't be flying under the radar very long because that means we would have to beat UCLA, Florida, and Auburn before we even play Georgia and Alabama.

Willingham has been the coach at Utah for 4 years now. The senior QB was in his system for 4 years and ran it very efficiently. Until UT get's a good freshman (or JUCO) qb and runs Kiffins system for a few years the offense won't click like Utah's last year.

If '09 UT becomes the next '08 Utah, the entire coaching staff deserves a massive raise, as well as a lifetime contract.

Positive thoughts, or pure boredom from the lack of football

I'll play along.

If we're lucky, this staff will overachieve with our talent to the same degree that the last staff underachieved - at least in 2008.

I don't see us having the success that Utah did last year... but if Crompton can play within himself and limit errors... and if we can avoid significant injuries... we could surprise some people this year.
