'06 LSU game

I would watch the 05 game, but not the 06 heartbreak.

Crompton played well in that game, but he also had Robert Meachem there to catch anything that came within 10 feet of him.

Crompton just slung that tater down field as hard as he could and meachem made plays. That hit on the safety was pretty b.a. though. I remember the crowd going pretty crazy on that one.

haha its funny to think about how a couple of awesome plays by Robert gave us all so much hope and excitement building up to last season at QB. Needless to say, I'm entering this Fall with a little bit more caution as far as expectations go.

The refs blew this game. J. Russell fumbled the ball, and the ref called him down. I thought fulmer was going to have a heart attack.

I agree....that TD pass with 9 seconds to go was even harder to watch in person:mega_shok:

As hard as that was to watch in person, I left that game thinking how great of a college football game that was. Just ended the wrong way. 2006 was a good season to have season tickets.

That Meachem catch in the endzone bewteen 2 LSU players happened right in front of me. Though in return, the winning LSU TD was on the other side of the field.

I sat in Section U on the 8th row and I told my fiance that on the way home, that it was a great game it just ended the wrong way....Until 2005 I had never been to a game that we have lost and USCjr beat us, I'll never forget that game, never seen so many brown paper bags in one place in my entire life lol...That Meachem catch was awesome though...I was impressed with Crompton that game, he has potential, I hope he turns it around this year

I don't normally walk away from a loss having enjoyed the game but that was one of them.

:good!:

lol...I enjoyed that game but not the taste it left in my mouth afterwards..I'll never forget though, the kid in front of me after Morley supposedly touched that punt every so slightly with his hand there in the 2nd quarter or at the end of the 1st, I believe and the kid turned around and called us p*****(LSU fan obvioulsy) and someone pegged him with a Coke can lol

This is true, but, just before that, we stupidly let LSU pull off a fake punt on 4th down, so we almost deserved to lose for that alone, and then there was the Morely punt return thing, so I believe things more or less even out.

I remember that. Right before LSU snapped the ball, I leaned over to my brother and said, "This is going to be a fake."

Alas.

It was fun a game to watch if you was there and a good game according to the scoreboard. But if you look at the stats LSU dominated. I mean we had maybe 50 yards of rushing, and LSU outgained us easily by 150 yards. They were really the better team that day. We wouldn't have been in the game if it wasn't for Meachem and those 3 interceptions our defense had (1 went for a TD by Morley). Again thank Saban and Lance Thompson for those recruits. LSU only had 2 losses that year. Auburn beat them by less than a TD and Florida beat them by around 10 seems like. Florida was clicking on all cylinders and LSU had some turnovers that game.

is on CSS at 6:00 central or 7:00 eastern tonight...
:the_finger: Those are what I gave some drunk lady in a Hummer full of LSU fans going down the strip after that game... I know I was a bad sport, but she pissed me off. She was gloating, hanging out the window. Havent liked LSU fans much since then. They were all a**es after that game... That game was such crap too! Russell fumbled the ball and turned it over then got ruled down and clearly clearly! wasnt! F!

Not using our timeouts at the end when it was insanely obvious that LSU was going to score was a really smart move.
