Reality bites. But yet we continually find hope in whatever lookie-here-it’s-getting-better flavor of the week

How far are we away, really?

A little perspective please.

We just played the #3 team in the country on the road.

We lost this game going away because of QB play and the fact that the OC didn’t have a solution for a VERY good defense. I don’t know if he didn’t trust JG or the team just could match up with the athletes on the other side.

We were in it for three quarters because of very good defense and a few breaks. We were probably lucky to be in the game as long as we were.

You cannot turn it over repeatedly or go three and out the whole second half and expect it not to be a blowout. The D played WAY too many snaps in the second half.

I was out on Jones and Dooley from day one. I really, really tried to convince myself that Pruitt might be the answer; GSU last year should have told me otherwise, but we seemed to improve down the stretch...

The used-car salesman beat UGA in his third year. Many, many intelligent people over the years have pointed out that, although not always, usually a talented coach who has what it takes shows dramatic improvement in year three. Said coaches often do so with a hell of a lot less talent than the imposter we have coaching for us now.

It's amazing to me that someone getting paid millions of dollars a year to be the top decision maker for a football team can't grasp the simple concept that true freshmen start day one all the time and play not just slightly, but light years better than the quarterback we have starting for us. Way, way back in 2018, a true freshman was put in for a team east of us over a quarterback with more experience, and somehow managed to luck into a national championship. But of course that could never happen here because we don't have a five-star freshman sitting on the bench...Oh, wait...

So spring practice was shortened due to the virus. A five-star who makes plays is a five-star who makes plays. Erik Ainge was a four-star coming out of high school and all he did as a true freshman was go into Athens and beat a #3-ranked UGA team. He also beat #11-ranked UF, and we won the East that year. But of course that could never happen now because Ainge was playing behind more five-star O-linemen...Oh, wait...

If our incompetent thief who is stealing money as the HC of this program would swallow his pride, or grow a brain, or whatever it takes for him to put in Bailey, we might have a chance of actually beating one of the teams in the SEC that matter for a change.

I feel like this stat is untrue but went and looked and none of the games I thought proved it wrong did. The closest I could see was a win in 2013 against #9 coaches poll South Carolina that was #11 in the AP.
Shocking stat but shows that our administration was not as committed to getting back to winning football here. We are still lagging behind in the SEC arms race. I saw improvement here and was feeling really good up until the first drive of the 2nd half. JG tried too hard and got away with scrambling in the first 2 games. He has lacked pocket presence his entire career. It’s like he never feels the blitz and has poor ball security. Our running backs got exposed on pass protection.

3rd longest streak in NCAA.

Are we having fun yet????

Yeah, but we’re only on an 0-16 streak if you use the Coaches’ Poll top 10.

On a less joking note, I’m seeing 0-34 dating back to the 2006 UGA game. Where else were you seeing a win against a top 10 AP team (or a loss being to a team that might have been in the top 10 BCS/CFP rankings but not in the AP poll)?
