Last drive was basically 7 on 7 with no pass rush until they got close. Then you saw the pressure come at the end. OL is soft and won't be better until 4 new starters with Smith are playing.

That last drive by itself kept them from having negative yardage for the second half of the game.

The kids looked like they were showing up for a pickup game in the first half with no prep and then there was no adjustment in the second half.

This would have been a lot uglier if their RB1 hadn't been injured from the get go.

Things to take away from this game:

Butch needs to be fired and Hoke placed as IHC.
Currie needs to make a proven HC hire before the end of the year to save recruiting and to stop the dumpster fire that will happen if Jones stays until the end of the year. *See Dooleys last year.

Yeah i agree. You don't have to be real good defensively to stop this offense, it's that bad right now. Teams have film. They're picking up on tendencies and plays they'll likely run out of certain formations.

I agree. UT will be 0-8 in SEC play this year regardless of the HC. The team cannot be salvaged without a complete makeover. When was the last time that happened?

Like it or not, Butch is probably going to stay until the season ends... only so we can reduce his buyout.

While I don’t think it will happen, there is a very real possibility that this team doesn’t win an SEC GAME THIS SEASON.

South Carolina exposed how pitiful the Vols truly are. Playing with 2nd team offensive linemen, without their best RB and WR - and playing 7 straight games without an open date - they ran all over the Vols in 2nd half. Vol offense is by far the worst in the league - not even a good FBS offense.

Fans need to ease up on team and coaching staff - fire breathing irrational stuff only hurts recruiting and prospects for next coach. This team is one of the worst UT teams in many years and getting a 4th win may be a severe challenge given the complete ineptitude on offense.

I just want to at least beat Butch once. I would hate to see him leave and we'd be the only team to never beat him.
