0-21 when losing the half, Dooley do the opposite

How many of those games did we really have a legit shot of winning beforehand? What about if we spot them some points?

I feel it is a stat worth following because it could reveal a problem in his coaching ability on second half adjustments.

then include his whole record and don't just start it at some random point

I think the coaching shows up in the gameplan that we were in most of those games at half. I think depth shows up at the end of the game and we haven't had any. In 2010 it was because of attrition and poor recruiting. In 2011 it's mostly because of injury.

Most of the time, comebacks happen when a better team is down early due to either poor play by the other team or exceptional play by the worse team. Under Dooley, we have yet to trail at half to a team that we were favored against. In fact, Dooley has never lost a game in which he was favored as a HC. How's that statistic?

As I have stated i'm not asking for his head, our program was ran into the ground for 8 years and we are now reaping the benefits of it. We play in the toughest conference in the country and it is difficult to over come lack of players over night. I really don't understand how some people get so defensive over his record when trailing at the half, I would love to see him break it against Arky but having said that it still needs to be watched and evaluated since he is our coach.

The thing people fail to understand is right now we have no other options, we have to ride this thru for at least 1 to 2 more years. A lot of fans are throwing out names for new coaches and talk about how Saban turned Bama around or Meyer at Florida blah blah blah. No coach in his right mind would want to come here under all this turmoil and high expectations, it would be a coaching death wish and one the university can't afford to do.

He was a head coach before he came to UT. I'm sure the OP is taking those stats in account.

Everything he did at La Tech should be ignored other than the fact that he took them to their first bowl game ever.

It wasn't their first ever. It was the first since 2001, and it was their first bowl win since 1977, which was their first bowl in "division 1" and only bowl win before Dooley.

Wouldn't this stat indicate an overmatched team, on the field, not even accounting for coaching. What would be the desired bench mark? 100% wins 100% of the time regardless of opponent? This year alone we've lost to teams ranked at the time we played them. Such is life in the SEC when you are down.

If you do the reasearch, you'll find that teams that are trailing at the half lose the game a majority of the time. Not every time, but certainly most of the time.

Stupid stat.

Excuse me. He took them to their first bowl win in 30 years. :good!:

Ignore the bad and only look at the good. That's a recipe for success if I've ever seen it.

Dead horse at this point (other than just trying to antagonize). Thanks to that pathetic performance on Saturday, the heat is on to win next year, and that is a win/win for everybody.

he lost to LSU at La Tech after leading at halftime. What does that tell you about anything?

win/loss is only useful in context. Without that a guy with a 152-52 record would be a no-brainer to be a HC anywhere

So he should do the opposite.

Im sure he will decide to go into the next game with no injuries and a roster loaded with SR/JR not SO/FR.

of the coaching community. Funny but can't get it done, show me the evidence???? This is just another losing stat he can add to his wannabe resume. Also a good chance he could go 1-7 or 0-8 in the SEC for the first time in school history. That certainly should add to his resume. However he did miss his calling he should have been a stand-up comic.

I'm a newbie here. The mods on Inside Tennessee kept locking my account for saying anything about the coaches so I'm trying out this website. Aside from that, I don't know what Dooley does in the locker room at halftime but unless you ask one of the players we will never know.
